*(Via USA Today) – Hillary Clinton formally launched her second presidential bid today, with a different approach from 2008 aimed at convincing voters through small-group settings that she has ideas for helping the middle class and the skills to govern.

“Everyday Americans need a champion. I want to be that champion,” Clinton says in a video posted on her new campaign website, hillaryclinton.com.

The long-awaited announcement came first via an email from campaign chairman John Podesta to supporters, according to the Associated Press and New York Times. Podesta says Clinton will talk to Iowa voters and hold a formal campaign kickoff next month.

  1. As an African American woman I’m with DiBlasio in waiting to see what Hillary has to offer folks like me and important to me. Having worked with white women in corporate and non profit environments I’ve only seen the further development of an “old girl” power structure – no less racist and uninviting to African American women than the existing “old boy” networks.
Time will tell how progressive she really is. I won’t be used to further her personal quest for more power and wealth while she leaves behind those most in need. Given the current racial climate of the country – blood of African American men running in the streets at the hands of officers of the law, under a sitting African American POTUS – I am not particularly encouraged by a Hillary run. Time will tell what her true agenda is
