*Whoopi Goldberg will tell you in a heartbeat that she’s no stranger to weed, but in a new interview with High Times magazine, “The View” host swears she only smokes these days to help ease her glaucoma.
“I had just been smoking a long time before the glaucoma — and for the fun of it,” she says in the magazine’s June issue.
But after she was diagnosed with the eye disorder, “What I did notice was that there were fewer headaches. Didn’t take me long to see there might be a correlation.”
She also advocates the use of pediatric medical marijuana for sick children.
“When we talk about marijuana and I hear people say, ‘Well, what about the children?’ Yeah, what about the children?”
She adds of families who have given their children cannabis, “These parents are being treated like criminals — because, as a last resort and after much research, they’ve decided that cannabis may help their kid . . . They know they may face jail time — but these are their kids, and they will do everything they can to bring peace to the convulsions or calm after the chemotherapy.”
