*Malik Yoba has officially put an end to all the hoopla associated with rumors he was fired from “Empire” because he was abusing drugs.

The entertainer set the record straight on the rumors during an appearance on “TMZ Live,” revealing that he spent money to find the blogger who was behind the false rumor, which quickly spread online. Yoba went to say he’s never had any issues with substance abuse and mentioned that anyone he’s ever worked with would be able to back him on that claim.

Among his supporters is “Empire” co-creator Lee Daniels, who Yoba stated had his back when the rumor caught fire. Regarding the blogger, the former “New York Undercover” star shared that the guy promised him that a retraction would be posted.

True to his word, the blogger’s retraction was posted early Thursday (March 26) afternoon. To see Yoba’s appearance on “TMZ Live,” check out the video below:

  1. Good for him! I am so glad to see a retraction on this! He’s a good actor and I am going to miss him on Empire. I do not understand why they felt they had to kill someone off. I would have preferred that Jamal’s boyfriend get killed off instead of Vernon. Most people PROBABLY feel the same way.
