*2 Chainz is making himself known in the world of sports as the new CEO of the Atlanta Hawks.

The shift in status is the result of the team’s current CEO Steve Koonin handing over control of the Hawks to the Atlanta-based rapper in a series of promotional videos, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reports.

“Mr. Koonin left me in charge,” 2 Chainz said in the video. “ I don’t know if you know who I am, but I’m 2 Chainz. There are going to be some major changes around here, buddy. Truuuuue.”

The effort is the result of a partnership between the Hawks and 2 Chainz to promote the entertainer’s new rap label, The Real University (T.R.U.), at Philips Arena when the Hawks play the Miami Heat on Friday (March 27).

The Hawks will release one video each day this week that will detail 2 Chainz’s proposed changes on the team’s Facebook page.

“As an Atlantan, I’m excited to collaborate with my beloved Hawks on March 27 as they face off against the Miami Heat,” 2 Chainz, a College Park, Ga. Native, said in a statement. “The Hawks have been ‘TRU to Atlanta’ this season so it’s only right that we come out to support.”

On Friday, 2 Chainz’s presence will be felt as the first 5,000 sports fans to be present when doors open at 6 p.m. will receive a copy of his latest mixtape, “T.R.U. Jack City.” In addition, 2 Chainz will be on hand to perform a pregame show that leads into a special version of player introductions with Hawks PA Announcer Ryan Cameron. The rapper, who will be featured in original Hawks productions that will air in Philips Arena during the game, will also perform at halftime as well as a post-game concert.

Tip-off for the game will be at 7:30 p.m.

“We could not be more excited to partner with 2 Chainz, an Atlanta-bred superstar who has been one of the team’s biggest supporters and always remained ‘True to Atlanta,’” Koonin voiced in a statement. “Working with Chainz is a perfect fit for our organization as we continue to attract an increasingly diverse, millennial fan base that values great entertainment both on and off the court.”
