DJ Big Boy Signs $10.5M Deal with iHeartMedia in Midst of Legal Battle

big boy,*Big Boy moved on to iHeartMedia’s Real 92.3 (KRRL) in Los Angeles after closing a $10 million deal, which sparked a nasty legal battle with Power 106 (KPWR), according to The Wrap’s Anita Bennett.

“You can’t imagine how psyched and ready I am to show my listeners – my family – what we’ve got planned at Real 92.3. iHeartMedia 100 percent gets what I’ve been doing for over 20 years and together we’re going to take it to the next level,” Big Boy said in a statement.

He will receive an annual income of $3.5 million from his three-year contract than an additional $200,000 for a video production budget, four weeks of vacation time and access to a private jet for anywhere in the U.S.

iHeartMedia plans to spend $1 million a year to promote his show. Also, he will be a feature presenter at national tent-pole events.

He joined Real 92.3 on March 9, but the deal officially closed after the Los Angeles Superior Court lifted a temporary restraining order.

His previous employer was trying to prevent him from leaving “Big Boy’s Neighborhood.” Power 106’s owner, Emmis Radio LLC, filed a lawsuit against Big Boy claiming he breached his contract, which ended on Saturday, Feb. 28.
