*Ron Funches and the gang are back tonight in the season 2 premiere of “Undateable,” NBC’s “Friends”-meets-“Cheers” comedy about a circle of friends living in Detroit and hanging out at one of the group’s unsuccessful bars.
It was announced Tuesday that the show will air live episodes for both the East and West Coasts on May 5, during the period when the network will be making its pickup decisions for next season. According to Deadline.com, the episode could bring some much-needed attention to the series.
The platform will allow the standup comedy-based cast members (Funches, Chris D’Elia, Brent Morin and Rick Glassman) the playground to make a lasting impression on the network.
Below, Funches talks about trying to convince his own friends that the show is worth watching.
“Undateable” airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m.
