*Kanye West’s performance of “All Day” at the BRIT Awards in London is now the song’s official music video.
West announced the news via Twitter on Monday (Mar. 16). His BRIT Awards debut of the song at the O2 in London last month featured a pair of flame-throwers, a crew cheering him on, and Lionel Richie in the crowd looking appalled at Ye’s repeated use of the n-word.
“All Day” — which features Theophilus London, Allan Kingdom and Paul McCartney — debuted at No. 15 on the Hot 100 chart last week, and previews his next studio album, So Help Me God, which has yet to receive a release date.
Perhaps it will be out by the time he returns to England to headline the Glastonbury festival.
Organizers announced that he will lead the event’s Saturday lineup on the festival’s famous Pyramid Stage. Friday’s lineup will be led by the Foo Fighters, with Sunday’s headliner yet to be announced. The festival this year runs June 24-28.
In 2008, Jay Z became the first hip-hop artist to headline Glastonbury. Back then, some had their doubts about a non-rock headliner, but his set ended up drawing positive reviews.
Reactions to West’s appearance prove the controversial star’s ability at causing social media debate. Early reaction tweets ranged from “WOOOO SEE U AT GLASTONBURY KANYE!!!!!!!” to “Kanye West headlining Glastonbury. That’s horrific.”
