Deya Direct: Tap Into Your Strength

Deya Direct

*Strength is defined as a power or force; the might to do something. It’s the capacity to manifest energy, to endure, and to resist.

In life, sometimes you need the strength to keep going and sometimes you need the strength to take a break; especially from toxic people, places and things that bring you down.

I recently took a much needed break. The older I get and the more that I embrace my femininity, the less I’m interested in the ‘being hard’ part of strength, and the more I enjoy the discovery of my true self from head to toe, inside and out.

As I live and learn, I share my ‘Fly Life’ experiences with you so that we can go and grow to the next level together.  After all, why experience the beauty of life if you’re doing it alone? As your Go-to-Girlfriend, when I discover a good find, or find a better way to live and love, well, I must share because that’s what I do.

A huge part of this journey for me has been the transition from chemically treated to natural hair. To be honest, my flyness has been defined by my permed hair for so long that this natural hair experience has been out of my comfort zone!

So I recently decided to try the Strength of Nature brand and I’m really liking it! Its various products have really been proactive in helping me and so many others in this transition. This weekend, I went to Jamaica and I learned some fly tips and tools amongst some amazing beauties.

Who knew my hair had a curl pattern that when wet and smoothed over with African Pride’s Curly Styling Custard it gives me a softness and flexibility with sheen and movement?

I don’t know about you, but I like to have freedom to change  things around, especially if it’s for my overall good. You see, just like in life, we need versatility.  And even though I’m natural, sometimes I like to wear my hair straight. African Pride’s Texture Manageability System helped me take my hair from curly to straight without foreign chemicals.

Now, hair and going natural is just one example of the risks that we take and the scary moves that we make in order to launch into the next level, the new chapter of how we experience our best selves. It takes inner strength to get in touch with yourself and go natural. When you do so, you teach others that you’ve embraced who you are. You no longer need permission for self-expression. Not only is that empowering, but the more confident and authentic you become, the softer your demeanor and spirit are. Having the strength to be and not to prove is a beautiful thing!

I am falling in love with the Strength of My Nature and the authenticity that flexibility allows. How about you? What soft changes are making you feel stronger?
