*The House Mother for University of Oklahoma’s banned Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity chapter told a news station that she couldn’t believe her boys sang a racist song. But hours later, the school’s newspaper uncovered a video of the woman chanting the word “n***a” several times.

Beauton Gilbow — who said she’s lived at the fraternity house for 15 years – is seen in the Vine video singing along to Trinidad James’ “All Gold Everything,” which has the line, “Don’t believe me, just watch n***a, n***a, n***a.” Gilbow repeats the n-word seven times.

The short clip was published by the Daily Oklahoman after Gilbow did an interview with CBS, saying how shocked she was to see the video of SAE members singing “There will never be a n****r SAE.”

“I heard the words. Unbelievable. This is not… this is not SAE,” she told the CBS reporter.

According to the Huffington Post, Vine user “demi Stevenson” uploaded the video of Gilbow on Feb. 24, 2013. The University of Oklahoma student directory lists a Demi Leigh Stevenson as a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences.

After the video of Gilbow started circulating, she released a statement to KFOR about the context of the video.

“I have been made aware of a video of me that is circulating on social media and in the news. I am heartbroken by the portrayal that I am in some way racist. I have friends of all race and do not tolerate any form of discrimination in my life. I was singing along to a Trinidad song, but completely understand how the video must appear in the context of the events that occurred this week.”

Brandon Weghorst, the associate executive director of communications for SAE, confirmed that Beauton Gilbow was an employee of the local house corporation, not the national organization.

“As with the national headquarters, the local alumni do not endorse the kind of behavior that we have seen in these videos,” Weghorst told NBC News. “We saw the video for the first time last night and share the same sentiment as the chapter video. This is racist, deplorable behavior, and we cannot allow this type of hateful mentality to be present in any of our chapters or members and certainly not with adult peers with whom they interact.”

Weghorst says the fraternity’s national headquarters doesn’t know the circumstances surrounding the latest video.
