Estelle Celebrates ‘True Romance’ on ‘The Real’ and ‘Empire’ (Watch)

Grammy-winning songstress Estelle hit the stage to perform “Silly Girls” on “The Real” earlier this week to celebrate the release of her fourth studio album True Romance (Established 1980 Inc./BMG). To continue with the promotion, she appeared on Wednesday’s episode of the hit FOX show “Empire”, as Delphine, who befriends Jamal after being inspired at his coming out.

She enters the Empire Entertainment fold to record a few songs, including this special version of “Conqueror,” her own hit single which gets special duet treatment when she performs the song on the show with Jamal (played by Jussie Smollett). The version from Wednesday’s episode will appear on the original soundtrack from season one of “Empire” to be released on March 10th.

  1. I love Estelle! Baby be putting it down right!

I love how someone in her camp sampled, and mixed a portion of Ace Spectrum’s “I Don’t Want to Play Around” into “Silly Girls.”

You youngsters probably have never heard of Ace Spectrum, but in 1974, those boyz were smoking! They had an Isley Brothers flavor.

In fact, on the LP “Inner Spectrum” which “I Don’t Want to Play Around” is on, they recorded “If You Were There” written and recorded by The Isley’s, along with “Don’t Send Nobody Else,” and “Don’t Let Me Be Lonely Tonight” also recorded by The Isley’s.

Estelle is the real deal. Excellent vocals, style, class, and pizzaz!

She just has that “thing” and I will always buy her music…
