*Lester Holt tweeted this morning that he’ll be back in the anchor chair for “NBC Nightly News” tonight after taking Monday off to deal with a family medical emergency.
The “Today” show’s Savannah Guthrie subbed for Holt. It had been unclear how long he would be gone.

Holt has been pulling in strong ratings for “NBC Nightly News,” anchoring the flagship newscast since before the division announced it was suspending Brian Williams for six months without pay and continuing to investigate claims he’s made in his capacity as NBC News managing editor and newscast anchor.
