*With the 40th anniversary of “Saturday Night Live” coming up tonight on NBC, one of the comedy series’ early talents, Ellen Cleghorne, will be in the house after spending years away from the show.

When Cleghorne joined the “SNL” cast in 1991 she made history as she was the second African-American female reoccurring cast member.

Back in the day, her sketch comedy character, “Queen Shenequa,” struck a comical chord as she dished on the latest hip-hop gossip and became one of the most memorable characters of Saturday Night Live history. So with that in mind, inquiring minds want to know if Queen Shenequa will make her comeback?

“I don’t have control over that,” Cleghorne tells JET. “I will be at the event. I’m looking forward to it. I’m also looking forward to thanking Lorne Michaels and the original cast for creating a space for comedy legacies.”

As you can imagine, the “SNL” anniversary and reunion will showcase an amalgamation of current and alumni cast members.

“I’m looking forward to meeting the new cast members black, white, male, female and giving them all a big hug,” Cleghorne expressed.

The “Saturday Night Live” 40th anniversary and reunion will air tonight on NBC from 8-11:30pm E/P.
