Missy Elliott’s Song Sales Up 282 Percent Since Super Bowl

*The Super Bowl sales bump continues for Missy Elliott’.

Not only have her sales surged 282 percent following her guest turn during Katy Perry’s Feb. 1 Super Bowl halftime show, but the three songs she belted have registered their biggest digital sales weeks ever.

Collectively, Elliott sold 272,000 song downloads in the week ending Feb. 8 (up 282 percent compared to the 71,000 sold in the week previous).

Her biggest seller of the latest week was “Work It” (one of the tunes she rapped at the Super Bowl), which debuts at No. 9 on Digital Songs with 83,000 downloads sold (up 300 percent). Her other two Super Bowl-performed tracks are her second and third-biggest sellers for the frame: “Get Ur Freak On” (No. 14 on Digital Songs with 78,000; up 316 percent) and “Lose Control,” featuring Ciara and Fatman Scoop (No. 18 with 59,000; up 257 percent).

Elliott’s albums also gained big time, as her catalog of releases rose by 265 percent to 8,000 copies sold for the week. (She sold 2,000 albums a week earlier.)

Not to be forgotten: Lenny Kravitz (who joined Perry for “I Kissed a Girl” during the halftime show) saw a 21 percent gain in album sales (3,000 — up from 2,000) and a 19 percent lift in song downloads (10,000 — up from 9,000).
