Rosie’s Oops Moment: Whitney Biopic ‘Must Have Killed Bobbi Kristina’ (Watch)

rosie perez the view

*Rosie Perez returned to “The View” on Tuesday and promptly found herself on the hot seat.

During the show’s “Hot Topics” segment which discussed the tragic Bobbi Kristina situation, the words coming out of her mouth didn’t quite sound right and social media lit her up.

Perez, 50, made reference to last month’s Lifetime biopic “Whitney” and said:

“Just thought about the movie that came out, and this is no disrespect to Angela Bassett because I love [her], but this unauthorized bio of her mom must have killed her.”

Oops.

That wasn’t a good look for Rosie and she instantly revised her comment.

“That was terrible phrasing,” she continued. “It must have hurt her deeply to watch that. We forget these people are human beings. We put them into the tabloids, and we forget they’re human beings.”

It may have been terrible phrasing, but Rosie may be on to something. What say ye?

  1. But its not like this 2015 movie was the first time she got wind of her parents had done drugs.. That’s dumb…the blame shouldn’t be placed anywhere but with BobbiChris. She is an adult … and made the choice to do drugs and pass out.. No one or no movie made her do it… Stupid Rosie~

    • This isn’t about Bobbie Chris being aware of her parent’s drug use, but this is about a young lady who not only lost her mother tragically, publically, and unexpectedly. You also have to factor in how they (the family) never wanted Lifetime and Angela to do this movie. Rosie is spot on when she said they’re still human beings. This young lady is still mourning the death of her mother, compound that with the fact that she’s struggling with her own addictions, and then Lifetime (trash ratings seekers), Angela (nothing significant since ‘What’s Love Got to Do With It’), and Debra Cox (when’s the last time she had a hit album/CD?) throwing them under the bus with that piece of celluloid trash did not help. Unless YOU’VE struggled with an addiction, you really have no basis to decide that she should have made a better choice than to do drugs. Maybe she could have, but you have to take into consideration the environment where she grew up. Everyone, including yourself, has a story, and just like we don’t know yours, we don’t know hers. Don’t judge someone else and their issues because you don’t know what may have driven them to do whatever they’ve done.

  2. that’s a helluva slip-up to try to clean up – when you consider Bobbi Kristina being raised by two celebrities who were heavily chemically-dependent, her lovely and talented world-famous mother dying the way she did and so suddenly, her father being a total train wreck, then trying to cope in an abusive relationship with a psychopath who was supposed to be like a brother to her, who wouldn’t expect some kind of serious fallout – I am praying so hard for her to pull through this; with youth on her side, saints all around her, and God in control, I have faith that she will come through this to rise above her troubled life, get rid of that loser criminal of a boyfriend, and discover what her real purpose is … should be lifting her up; access to money doesn’t always cut it … she needs another chance, God willing …
