*To say that Carmen Lundy is sultry is an understatement.
Hers is a timeless style and sound that endures across the decades. Her melodious renditions have emerged once more with the release of her latest album “Soul To Soul” on the Afrasia label. Â Having traveled extensively, Carmen is quite popular on the global music scene.
She told EURweb’s Jazzy Rita just how she has been able to maintain as an artist and a business woman in the jazz industry.
Carmen Lundy: “I’m going into my fourth decade now and I’m not going to apologize for having a wonderful full life of sustaining this music, which is not easy. I will say that I’ve had help but the help is the result of being a fierce devotee of this genre in music, which I fell in love with surprisingly as a college student.”
All About Jazz rates Ms. Lundy’s “Soul To Soul” with five stars! Carmen sings beautifully on this album but she also wrote, produced and provided instrumentation on the piano as well as guitar. “Soul To Soul” features other talented participants such as Patrice Rushen on keys, Benny Maupin on sax, drummer Jamison Ross, trumpeter Randy Brecker, bassist Darryl Hall and additional keys by Geri Allen. Rounding out the lineup is Warren Wolf, Myra Casales, Elisabeth Oei, Simphewe Dana and Carol Robbins.
