*A Bay Area rapper was shot and killed in East Oakland, and police have yet to make an arrest.
According to KPIX, 37-year-old Dominic Newton, a rapper who went by the stage name “The Jacka,” was shot and killed at 8:15 p.m. Monday in East Oakland.
Oakland police are investigating but had not identified any suspects or made any arrests Tuesday morning.
Newton is originally from Pittsburg and began his rap career in the late 1990s as a member of Mob Figaz. He then launched a solo rap career in 2001.
