Bryant Gumbel Voices NRA Dislike: ‘They Are a Curse Upon the American Landscape’

Bryant Gumbel

*Bryant Gumbel is not a big fan of the NRA.

In fact, the host of HBO’s “Real Sports” had no trouble voicing his dislike of the gun rights group as he labeled them “pigs” who “don’t care about human life” during a new interview with Rolling Stone.

“There are a few things I hate more than the NRA,” Gumbel said when asked about a recent segment he did on the “Eat What You Kill” movement. “I mean truly. I think they’re pigs. I think they don’t care about human life. I think they are a curse upon the American landscape. So we got that on the record.”

Despite having no love for the NRA, Gumbel stated that his reporting was not affected by his disdain for the group.

“That said, I’m willing to separate that this story had nothing to do with that. It’s not a gun story,” he said about the “Eat What You Kill” segment. “So I would like to think that I would have done it, but I don’t know. Obviously, that was my first experience around killing and guns and hunting.”

  1. I respect a Man who thinks for himself and speaks his mind and Bryant Gumbel is one of the few talking heads on tv that has a mind of his own. I myself have no problem with firearms. If the NRA did what their name suggests and only stuck their noses into issues pertaining to Rifles I would have very little problem with them. Rifles are used in hunting and have served a purpose for several hundred years. Handguns and assault weapons serve one purpose and that is to kill human beings. Back when our constitution was written “the right to bear arms” meant the right to own a rifle. At that time pistols were worthless. They were not accurate and were only used at close range to kill humans. Rifles served a true purpose. To put food on the table. If you took away someone’s rifle you took away their ability to feed their family. If the NRA continues to support handguns and assault weapons they should be required to change their name to “The National Rifleman and Weapons to Kill Human Beings Association”.
