*Bill Cosby had a friendly crowd Sunday during his first performance in California since allegations of past sexual assaults surfaced.

The Modesto Bee reports Cosby was greeted warmly and left with a standing ovation at Turlock Community Theatre. Only one protester showed up to Cosby’s comedy tour stop in the Central California city.

“It’s sad. I am very disappointed there aren’t more people. But someone has to stand up so I came,” said Suzette Sims, 51, who came with a sign that read “I Believe The Women.”

The 77-year-old comedian is facing sexual assault accusations from at least 15 women, with some of the claims dating back decades. He has denied the allegations through his attorney and has never been charged with a crime.

“He hasn’t been found guilty of anything and this is still America,” said Wayne Stanfield, 45, who attended Sunday’s show.

Cosby performed in Colorado earlier in the weekend, where he was warmly welcomed to the stage but also attracted protesters. In Denver, some 100 people chanted “Rape is not a joke!” and “No means no!” outside the theater. And at a packed show in Pueblo Friday, about 25 demonstrators gathered outside, chanting “No means no” and “Colorado believes the women.”

Bill Cosby: Pa. Supreme Court to Hear Appeal of Sex Assault Conviction

*The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has accepted Bill Cosby’s appeal of his 2018 sex assault conviction.

Cosby’s spokesperson, Andrew Wyatt, said the disgraced TV star is “extremely thankful.”

The decision could pave the way for the conviction to be possibly overturned in the future.

Cosby, 82, is currently serving a three-to-10 year sentence in a state prison for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand.

Back in April 2018, he was found guilty on three counts of sexual assault.

During the trial, prosecutors used Cosby’s past admissions about drugs and sex as well as the testimony of five other women to help support Constand’s allegations against him.

Andrea Constand, main accuser in the Bill Cosby trial, leaves courtroom on April 25, 2018, in Norristown, Pennsylvania.

Constand and her mother, Gianna, both testified during the retrial. According to Deadline, Janice Dickinson, Heidi Thomas, Janice Baker-Kinney, Lise-Lotte Lublin and Chelan Lasha also provided testimony that they were drugged by Cosby with wine or pills, matching Constand’s story.

A jury of seven men and five women returned a guilty verdict for Cosby’s alleged assault on Constand in January 2004.

“As we have all stated, the false conviction of Bill Cosby is so much bigger than him — it’s about the destruction of ALL Black people and people of color in America,” Wyatt said in a statement to USA TODAY. “We’re extremely thankful to our attorneys for their tenacious efforts in fighting for the vindication of Mr. Cosby.”

Here’s more about the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s decision via USA Today:

In its one-page order, the Supreme Court said it will review the appellate panel’s decision on Cosby’s case based first on whether the trial judge’s decision to allow other accusers to testify about alleged, uncharged “prior bad acts” by Cosby was prejudicial as opposed to probative, a standard used to allow or disallow testimony.

The other issue the court will review is whether the trial judge improperly allowed testimony about a civil deposition Cosby gave after he said he was promised by an earlier district attorney that he would not be prosecuted. By relying on that promise, was Cosby induced to make self-incriminating statements later used against him, and does that violate his constitutional rights against self-incrimination?

Under the usual timeline, the high court would next set a briefing schedule and eventually a date for oral arguments before the court.

Although dozens of women have accused Cosby of sexual misconduct, only Constand’s allegations resulted in criminal charges.

*Bill Cosby has weighed in on the death of George Floyd at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer, via a written statement posted on Instagram by his publicist Andrew Wyatt.

“When I think about George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and countless other Black people murdered by racial hatred, I could not help but think about my son, Ennis, who was also brutally murdered,” said Cosby, UrbanHollywood411.com reports.

In his message, Cosby recalled the death of his son Ennis Cosby, who was fatally shot  in 1997 during a robbery attempt while he was changing a tire on the side of the road in LA.

“Before racial hatred shot our beloved Ennis in the head and abruptly ended his life, this raging inferno of racial hatred stated, ‘die ni–er’ before he pulled the trigger. I understand the pain; I understand the helplessness; and I, too, understand that NO parent has willingly filled out an application to become a member of the ‘My Child Was Murdered by Racial Hatred’ club,” Cosby said in his statement.

These murders of innocent Black people will never end until the “establishment” acknowledges that they are the architects of this Prison of Racism In America — they continue to teach racial hatred around their dinner tables; they continue to fuel racial hatred by portraying Black people negatively on television and movies; and they continue to enhance racial hatred by placing their knee on the necks of Black people, no matter their education, success or fame. Yes, protests are meaningful and powerful when they are done in a peaceful manner. But, the Mayors and Governors of Minneapolis, Philadelphia, New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Birmingham, etc., can’t send police officers out in tactical gear, ready and willing to inflict bodily harm, which doesn’t reflect peace nor the expectation of a peaceful protest. Come On People! Let’s not squander a golden opportunity — officers – remove your tactical gear, remove your guns, put on the Full Armor of GOD and march with the people whom you have made your enemy. I will continue to pray that GOD provide the families of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and countless other Black people murdered by Racial Hatred with wisdom, understanding and peace during these difficult times. Please be mindful and be safe. #BlackLivesMatter #FreeBillCosby #FarFromFinished #GeorgeFloyd #BreonnaTaylor #ArmaudArbery #EnnisCosby
