When Humour is murdered
I had the privilege of meeting the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists who today were callously killed by terrorists together with other journalists at the premises of Charlie Hebdo , a satirical magazine in Paris.
The publication has lampooned many and spared no one in its way. I would meet the cartoonists at many Cartoon Festivals in France over the years. There was always a rush to meet them by the young and old as they were very well known in France. Their cartoon books sold bucket loads. The icing on the cake was to get a cartoon or caricature drawn, in individual’s autograph book by these cartoonists. The terrorists have murdered humour but freedom of expression will not be silenced.
