Chris Rock Foreshadowed Divorce in His Stand-Up (Watch)

chris rock & malaak compton-rock*Right before the new year, Chris Rock confirmed the divorce with his soon-to-be ex-wife Malaak Compton-Rock after 19 years of marriage.

After the announcement of the divorce, Compton-Rock released a statement about the family’s transition and that being respected, according to the Huffington Post.

“After much contemplation and 19 years of marriage, Chris and I have decided to go our separate ways,” she wrote. “Being fortunate enough to lead a life of service by working with those most vulnerable makes me well aware of life’s blessings, even when faced with difficulties.”

She added, “while recognizing that this is a significant change, my children remain at the center of my life and their well-being is my top priority. It is in this spirit that I sincerely ask that their privacy and the privacy of our family be respected during this transition in our lives.”

But it turns out Rock foreshadowed the divorce in his stand-up comedy. Therefore, the news about the divorce wasn’t as shocking for some!

“Marriage is so tough, Nelson Mandela got divorced — he got out of jail after 27 years of torture, spent six months with his wife and said, ‘I can’t take this [expletive] no more.'”

  1. When people say a picture is worth a thousand words that is usually accurate. One can sometimes tell the unhappy person via couple, job, etc simply by how he or she smiles in a photo. If you look at most of Chris’s photos, he barely or never smiles while his wife is always looking happy with him. He was probably indicating he was not happy in the relationship all along
