*(Los Angeles) - Grammy nominated singer Shanice will be a featured performer at Lee Bailey's first annual EURweb Media Awards Show to be held Friday August 1, 2008 at the Los Angeles Convention Center between 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. in the West Hall - 511AB. Shanice will perform a lovely ballad she co-wrote in honor of presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama, titled "The President We Need." (Hear the song here.) Like most legends in the entertainment business, the talented performer is known simply by her first name, Shanice. As a toddler she appeared in television commercials and by the time she was 11 years-old she was appearing regularly in Kids Incorporated. Kids Incorporated was a children's television program that also starred award winning singer/songwriter Rahsaan Patterson, Stacy Ferguson (Fergie-The Black Eye Peas) and Jennifer Love Hewitt. That same year she appeared on Star Search and caught the eye of an executive at A&M Records and was signed shortly thereafter. Her debut, "Discovery," was released three years later in 1987. In 1990 she signed to Motown Records and teamed with Narada Michael Walden for her sophomore album, "Inner Child." That album garnered such hits as the Grammy nominated "I Love Your Smile," "I'm Cryin'," and "Lovin' You." A mother of two (4 and 6 years-old) and wife to actor/comedian/producer Flex Alexander (One on One); Shanice also appeared on soundtracks for such films as Disney's Pocahontas, on "If I Never Knew You," a duet with Jon Secada. She went on to sign with LaFace Records and released "21 Ways to Grow" and then the self-titled "Shanice." In 2006 she released her sixth album, "Every Woman Dreams," on her own indie label IMAJAH. The EURweb Media Awards will present awards in six categories most Outstanding Achievements in "print media," "electronic media," "journalism," "photography," operating an "agency," and as the most "media friendly celebrity."
