HEAR THE EURCAST FROM THE WINTER TCAs: Queen Latifah, Jamie Foxx, Paul Wall and More; Plus author Kimberla Lawson Roby(January 30, 2007)
*This EURcast brings you highlights from the 2007 Winter Television Critics Association press tour, a bi-annual conference where all of the broadcast and cable TV networks spend two to three weeks introducing their new programming to the press.
Queen Latifah and Jamie Foxx, executive producers of the upcoming HBO drama "Life Support," get into a side discussion about Oprah Winfrey's recent AIDS test; former Color Me Badd front man Bryan Abrams, starring in the upcoming VH1 reality series "Man Band," is asked about being spoofed in that infamous "Saturday Night Live" short, "D*ck in a Box;" and rapper Paul Wall tries to reconcile his bling-heavy grill business with new knowledge gained while participating in a VH1 documentary about conflict diamonds. Plus, comedian Roz from the upcoming second season of "Martin Lawrence's 1st Amendment Standup" was one of several black comics throughout the two weeks in Pasadena to be asked about using the N-word post Michael Richards. In conclusion, author Kimberla Lawson Roby (that's right, Kimberla, not Kimberly) gets on the phone with EUR's Lee Bailey to discuss her new book, "Love and Lies."
ABOUT THE EURcast ... Every two weeks or so, we'll pump out a fresh new edition of the EURCast full of the latest music, film, TV and gossip info heard directly from the stars themselves. There will also be special-edition podcasts released in addition to the biweekly versions covering specific events. For example, one EURCast may take you to the press room of the latest awards show. Another may place you on the red carpet of the next movie premiere. Wherever we go, you and your headphones are coming with us. Plus, we've got leaked music from upcoming albums ... but shhhh, that's between us. Sometimes, the EUR can get a little crowded with all of the day's urban news. The EURCast has now arrived to pick up the slack and serve up urban entertainment the way it was meant to be ... raw and uncut.
