*Oprah Winfrey is making sure that her latest project, a morning talk show hosted by Food Network spitfire Rachael Ray, will be a ratings success from the very first week.

On Aug. 3, the TV mogul appeared on Ray’s hour-long syndicated program, “The Rachael Ray Show,” which is produced by Winfrey’s own Harpo production company and distributed by King World.

According to People magazine, Winfrey stayed for the entire taping, met the audience members and toured the show’s New York facility during her stay.

As soon as it was over, Winfrey, 52, headed straight to the airport for a flight to South Africa to check on the building of her Leadership Academy for Girls, due to open in January.

“The Rachael Ray Show,” meanwhile, premieres on Sept. 18. The episode with Winfrey will air during its first week.
