STAR JONES UPDATE: Fox News doesn't want her; Now there's harmony at 'The View.'(July 14, 2006)
*OK all you Star Jones Reynolds junkies, we got your fix for today. First off, the Fox News Channel folks say they have no love for Mrs. Al Reynolds, and network suits are ticked off that In Touch magazine reported they were giving her a job. "This is what happens when a low-rent publication like In Touch tries to break news," scoffed a Fox News flack to the New York Post. "It's no wonder their magazine is an industry joke." Meanwhile, in the wake of Jones departure from the "The View," her former co-hosts have said her absence has been "liberating." Again, the New York Post reported that since Jones surprised viewers by announcing on June 27 that she was leaving the show, Barbara Walters, Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck have enjoyed the new looser atmosphere. "Elisabeth can finally get a word in edgewise, and you can see how she's opened up," an insider told the paper. "And Barbara and Joy are joking around a lot more." If you're wondering who will replace Star, the Post says that with the arrival of Rosie O'Donnell on Sept. 5, Walters and producer Bill Geddie are in no hurry to pick a 5th member anytime soon.
