Comment: But is he not headed in the right direction? Once he comes to the table with more learned individuals might he not learn the exact path to be on? I hope we all agree that the environment we're living in is quickly becoming toxic. At this point we need all that we can get at the table so one more not so informed doesn't create the same boogie man image as a handful of jcp's unleashed on the dim witted 20 something generation. I welcome folk you don't hear much about getting involved - beats the hell out of low rating someone else's contribution.

Comment: So JCP, whatcha got to say about the Antarctic ice shelf breaking off and the coming extinction of the emperor penguins? Nothing to do with global warming, huh?

Name: TGen
Comment: I don't care about global warming. There, I said it. I just don't.

Comment: "God help us"..yes you are right on the money with that closing statement JCP. God help us from people like you who pretend to praise the almighty yet are willing to abuse his planet and then turn a blind eye. Global warming is real, but the real 'boogie man' is your right wing ilk's ignorance on the subject.

Comment: I don't dispute that our earth is going through changes. I do think it is arrogant of us to think we can do anything about it immediately. JCP is correct that liberals are using global warming to sucker Americans out of our money. Much of the legislation that is being presented is based on BS. Scientists were predicting the snow caps at the poles would fully melt this past summer. I'm still waiting. That prediction was made to scare leaders to give money now. I with JCP on this one.

Comment: My only comment on global warming is two-fold, I am not a scientist but I can read and decide once facts are revealed. Just look at history books or any documentaries from even 100 years ago. You could bathe in creeks, drink water right from them and not be harmed in any way. Now, if you visit any area from lets say where Tyson foods dumps chicken waste, would you even dip in that water? How about drinking it? Just because I believe in what the FDA is doing does not make me a liberal fool.

Comment: What does global warming have to do with creeks being polluted???

Name: McNasty
Comment: Its another form of deterioration that we are facing.

Comment: TGen, I don't much care about global warming either, because frankly if it were as dire a situation as Gore makes it out to be, it's already too late, regardless of what we humans do (and regardless of JCP's tired, broken record, GOP diatribe). I don't see anything wrong though with cars and factories that spew "cleaner" emissions, or advancing and supporting the science of a cleaner, greener environment. I can live comfortably enough in my house when it's messy, but it's even more pleasant when it's neat and clean.

Comment: I don't get what is JCP's hangup with pollution. He rails against global warming every chance he gets. Look man, whether pollution is linked to global warming or not, it's STUPID to argue in favor of polluting the planet. People live here dufus! The planet needs to be kept as clean as possible for the future survival of humankind. And that's regardless of whether pollution and trash are causing weird weather patterns.

Comment: envirinmental issues get referred to in a variety of ways and global warming is one of several reference points for the rapid deterioration and destruction of earth's resources that human kind needs to have a reasonable, sustainable quality of life . . . . the really big global fight is not going to be over oil, it's going to be over drinking water: people in the western parts of this country are already fighting over water rights to the Colorado River basin [Waxman is well aware of this situation] . . . . ummm, JCP, it is already too late to re-set the environmental damages that are going to make life on earth a hell for your much beloved sons and grandsons . . . . . GOD have mercy on us all

Comment: Global Warming? B-O-R-I-N-G!!! Let's change the subject.«» Last night, after the Superbowl ended, I happen to catch an old episode of "Martin". Lo and be hold...guess who was starring on the show? Joseph C. Phillips! Ha! Took a minute to confirm it was you. The voice was recognizable, but the face was questionable....cause you were missing the facial hair. JCP...I realize that was taped a long time ago, but don't ever consider getting rid of the facial hair again. Sorry, that look ain't cute. Why look like a booty-face? I'm sure Mrs JCP has told you the same thing.(LOL) Anyways, I'm not a fan of yours, cause you post these damn weekly articles no one really gives a shyt about, but you're a more attractive man when you have facial hair. I'm in a fairly decent mood, so I'm giving you something that slightly resembles a compliment.«» Now moving right along, why are you so uptight? How come you don't log in & respond to the folks comments like Mo Kelly does from time to time? A little web interaction goes a long way. Even if it about some damn Global Warming..... :-)

Comment: DcDoug, again, what does global warming have to do with cleaner emissions? I don't get the parallel people keep trying to make between living cleaner (pefectly fine) with the earth getting warmer. ???

Comment: Quoting the Cato Institute shows exactly why I still don't take you seriously, JCP. Cato Institute once posited that second-hand smoke is a 'fraud'. Cato Institute regularly receives thousands of dollars from guess who, ExxonMobil Foundation. If you want to prove a point, please quote independent peer-reviewed science, not 'think-tank' ideology.

Comment: And one more thing - "trust the market"? how many examples of the unregulated market screwing people do you need, JCP? Employment discrimination and Ponzi schemes are all market-inefficient, but PEOPLE DO IT ANYWAY. As if return on investment should direct our choices. Let's destroy the planet because we make a lot of money that way. Tell you what, I'll buy your children off of you for a handsome sum. Great ROI!
