Comment: At 1st when I heard about this story, I made the mistake of assuming he may be guilty. Now that more details are coming out Triple J should not be painted with the broad brush of corruption. Some may call him a snitch but at least he wasn't trying to buy a Senate seat from Blago. Keep your head up, I hope J.J.J. will now be proven innocent and gain his rep back.

Comment: he11, i dont know if this is good or bad....i know brother wants to clear his name, but dayum if i want to have "narc", "stool pigion" or "squeeky mouse" behind my name. eff that.

Comment: I hear what ya saying Soul but huey hit that nail...treJ might've done sumthing good but muthafuccers don't look highly on folks they perceive as a snitch...He's an agent provocateur....Black folks don't like agents provocateurs...Imma ask this, what made him become an agent pro- (fucc it), a snitch?...Man, this sh1t has the potential to be better than a John Grisham novel.....

Comment: I was thinking the same thing Huey. I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing for him. Since some people already think he's tainted just by virtue of his last name (wth?), this might not ease their skepticism, as sometimes people look at informants as guilty people trying to cover up their own ish or trying to get revenge or whatever, basically someone not trustworthy. But I'm with you Soulmusic101, I'm still rooting for him. On a side note, I think he should be more concerned with his "friend" BO and why his Chief of Staff didn't have his name on his list of "acceptable" candidates for that Senate seat. Here this man is your co-chair, threw his own dad under the bus for you, and your Chief of Staff doesn't think he's "acceptable" to fill your seat? smh Just more proof of the divide between the Clintonites and the progressives. It's not clear anymore which side BO is on, but it's clear JJjr apparently is not in the fold. *sigh*

Comment: well Mother, people are gonna flip and flop on Jesse. I'm positive he's very familiar with this "attitude" and makes his moves anyways. News reports this morning were saying that "people close to Jesse" were saying that he wanted to be clear that he was not an informant, he simply gave the Feds info regarding corrupt activities going on in his area. SO! depending on how you wish to spin it....or rather whose spin you wish to believe, Jesse may be crucified by "us", for frankly tryna do some "good." Wouldn't you want to try and get corrupt mf's busted up? "Informant" - which is the "msm word" being bounced around, has a negative connotation and "they" know that. Anyhoo, there's more to come on this story so, if you down with triple J, then you down, otherwise, let the flip-flopping begin!

Name: huey
Comment: only thing i can tell him is he better sit his azz on that oprah couch and try to clear this bullshiit up with the quickness......tom cruise did it, jennifer aniston did it, superhead did it......well, scratch superhead, but yall get where im going....

Name: TGen
Comment: Adifferentpath, great post. I had not that about your angle, but you're right. There is a negative connotation to "informant," and the msm is brilliant at spin. I'm so glad you pointed that out because I think for a sec I had become a victim of that spin! lol But I'm seeing it clearer now. I hope others don't fall for the okey-doke like I was about to do.

Comment: JJJr is not a bad guy in this Blago mess . . . . I don't understand why it's wrong for people to help stamp out crime: that attitude encourages criminal terrorism in some communities [don't snitch] . . . . . it seems to me that Blago got shut down before he committed a crime . . . . hillary's demand that Obama pay off her campaign is a form of "pay to play": is she attempting a criminal act? . . . . MSM keeps trying really hard to make the Obama connection to Blago's attempted criminal activities - it's like they can't stand to see a black man who routinely exceeds their low expectations of black men; MSM is settling on beating down JJJr

Comment: HarrisThomas --(huey passes bottle to HT)....well, the problem here is how deep does his informing thin go for j- cubed. that will be the question that hangs over his head. what percentage of him is "informant" or whatever u want to call. "u can put lipstick on a pig..." and what percentage is "congressman" doing the peoples work? did he get paid extra to inform, was informing a part of the job description? how was he asked to become and informant? who asked him? what other congressman are "informants"? does this type of thing run deep or was it a one shot deal? this questions are a by-product of being a so called "informant", "helper", "stool pigeon" or whatever else u call him. i think its a good thing to wipe out crime. the bad part is u become stimatized. and it will cause even some of his closest colleagues to handle him with kids gloves going forward. thats how it works.

Name: Reds
Comment: Well this is even more confusing. JJjr could make the argument that he was on to Blago and was trying to do the "right" thing by entrapping Blago, especially after how Blago dealt with his wife's candidacy for director of the state's Lottery Commission. But this argument will be difficult since his brother went ahead and held the fundraiser. Maybe JJJr was blinded by the prospect of getting a US senate seat and only thought that Blago's phone was taped, and wasn't counting on the office being bugged also. But while this new info might present an opportunity for JJJ to salvage some reputation, he seems reluctant to be labeled a snitch... "Jackson rejected being labeled with the term "informant" in a message to CNN contributor Roland Martin. Spokesman Kenneth Edmonds described Jackson's interaction with federal authorities this way: "As a responsible citizen and elected official, Congressman Jackson has in the past provided information to federal authorities regarding his personal knowledge of perceived corruption and governmental misconduct." ... Well, what will it be JJJ?

Comment: Obama may have dodged the bullet again in the pay for play mess. It is now rumored that Fitzgerald has info on Rahm Emanuel making some 21 contacts with Blagojevich. So Obama now has the opportunity to synchronize his upcoming report about contacts with Blago. Grace, you're correct, we never liked a tattletale in school BUT was he "tattling" or was he leaving heavily creased newspapers on the 2nd table from the condiments bar at starbucks for federal agent 307 to pick up and take back to the crime lab? I mean dang!! and as we get older, them dayum tattlers seem to be copping nice positions, making big bucks, etc. SO, I think it all depends on how you look at it. Someone else said it too but "we" have this whole "don't snitch" thang...maybe it's all about "how" you do not "what" you do...cuz if somebody messes me over...I'ma want somebody to snitch - to me- so I can handle my business...shyyyyt (takes a sip from small china teacup filled with hot cocoa and bailey's)

Comment: Is Cheney thumbing his nose at Obama? It seems that Obama's decision not to prosecute Bush administration officials for torture has embolden Dick Cheney to openly admit to committing a crime wish the US deemed punishable by death in the past. On waterboarding, Cheney said "I was aware of the program, certainly, and involved in helping get the process cleared, as the agency in effect came in and wanted to know what they could and couldn't do…And they talked to me, as well as others, to explain what they wanted to do. And I supported it.” …Cheney also seemed to be dissing Obama’s “change” campaign message as just empty rhetoric: "They shouldn't just fall back on campaign rhetoric to make these very fundamental decisions about the safety of the nation," he warned.”… Cheney went further to diss Obama, who campaigned on closing Guantanamo. "If you're going to close Guantanamo, what are you going to do with those prisoners?" he asked.” And said the Guantanamo detainees have been "well treated." http://www.abcnews.go.com/GMA/Story?id=6467512&page=1 … So what can we expect as a comeback from Obama? He has the right and the evidence to prosecute Cheney for war crimes… Change we will believe in when we see it.

Comment: 3J told investigators that Blags tried to swindle him and he declined? I can't believe it! 3j may be innocent? Fk outta here! The media and black folk may have rushed to judgment based on nothing more than his name being mentioned? Who would've thunked that. TGEN...adifferent is right and this was discussed on the news y'day. That for some people the phrase is "[insert name] is cooperating w/investigators." It's a general and common statement to make. W/Jackson, the phrase is "Jackson is an informant." Informant denotes that he was actively providing the feds w/information..that he was part of a sting. Yes it's semantics..but the wording is important. REDS..not really. Johnathan Jackson is a recent business partner of the man who held the fundraiser for Blags. His brother did not host the fundraiser in any way and the media has erroneously tied him to hosting it which is absent any evidence. The Tribune reported that Johnathan "attended" it. Attending is what lots of people do. In fact, Obama got in trouble for attending a fundraiser w/Ayers. In this case, 3j didn't but his brother did and 3J is being held responsible. WTF? His relationship is separate from that with his brother. TGEN...in a sad way, I'm glad to see that reportedly didn't have 3j as a possible pick on their list. It should show him that when you throw your own family under the bus, the father whose namesake is partly responsible for your rise, you need to make sure you have four tires and a spare in the truck. BTW, w/all this talk about Jackson jockeying for the position..at least he's actually jockeying rather than the likes of Kennedy who only has to say she wants it...then she'll get it. Jessie Jackson Jr. cooperating w/investigators...possibly having no involvement? Sounds like a media lynching w/black folk (once again) being all to willing to tie the noose around his neck. SMGDHIMFS!

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: And if the story is true, it should also show the type of person Obama is..which IMO isn't a gud look. That Obama saw 3J as expendable..a casualty he would be all to willing to throw under the 18-wheeler. *sucking teef*

Comment: Obama should not allow Cheney to argue that preventing another 9/11 gave him the right to torture suspected terrorists, since the Japanese were not given that privilege also. The US tried and executed Japanese war criminals for waterboarding US agents, despite the fact that US agents committed the greatest terrorist acts on Japanese citizens, twice. The Japanese could not use the argument that they were trying to get info to prevent Hiroshima or Nagasaki, so why should Obama allow Cheney to use that argument with 9/11. All war criminals should be prosecuted.

Name: TMan
Comment: Well, there's two ways of looking at it in my book. If JJJr. went informant for the feds 10 years ago, let's see, 1998, I'm more interested to know why he made that decision at that time, during that year. Also I'm interested to know why he has kept on being an informant for them for this long. What was the reason. Was it all about Blago for 10 years? Was it because the feds are well aware of Chicago dirty politics history and they wanted to have another "Inside Man" to help them keep tabs? Was JJJr. helping them out for 10 years on the city wide ChiTown Political Corruption and this Blago episode was a sidedish surprise for them all? My question would also be what did the feds promise JJJr. to be their informant for this long. As the old question goes, "how much is it worth to you?" Also, who approached who first? Did the feds approach JJJr. first or did JJJr. approach them first? What deal was made? Details will help fill this story out. Also, if JJJr. knew about his role as an informant for this long, did Daddy JJ know too all this time? Was JJ Senior an informant too for the last 40 years on a whole plethora of issues? From King to Civil Rights on up. Did JJJr. learn the informant game from Pops? What say you?

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: Jamer..I try not to laugh at people I'm amenable to. BUT, TGEN got u on that one..LMAO! The assumption I make is that because 3j was a vocal supporter of Obama, is from chicago, had worked w/Obama for years, THAT Obama would rush to help him if not for political reasons..at least to restore the Jackson legacy. He's invited his enemies into his cabinet and Jackson (who threw his father under alcatraz) gets nothing but anal penetration? That's fkd up no matter what way you look at it. I think we can reasonably conclude that 3J would NOT agree to go another way..not when he's actively campaigning for the seat. That's illogical IMO.

Name: musbdherbs
Comment: BTW, to tell you how the media and most minds work, shouldn't there be a lil clarity from the media and talking heads, that if 3J has been cooperating for a decade..that would mean that he was cooperating when Blags was still a congressman. That means that the governor was under investigation while he was still a congressman. That means that the governor was elected into office under federal investigation. IMO, that's odd. But I question most things I see or read.

Comment: Jesse Jr. is clean and people are still trying to nail him to the cross. It's the height of foolishness for Blacks to continually try to besmirch the Jackson family believing those who were at the forefront of civil rights have no place in the world today. With all the help Jesse Jr. provided Obama during his campaign notice how he didn't think enough of him to even place in name on "his" list of those to replace him. I bet he knows exactly what he father meant when he made that comment a few months back. People will soon find out the ease in which Obama will sell Blacks down the river. I hope he garners more support from non-Blacks because the level of enthusiasm will not remain by the next time around. Blacks are the only ones chomping at the bit to do away with those who agitated for civil rights yet admire other groups who cling to their own and keep pushing their agendas. There is nothing more galling than people like Obama who had NOTHING to do with making it possible for him to even run for POTUS (from a historical viewpoint) trying to downplay and diminish our movement. This is unforgivable and dumb!

He's trying to marginalize Blacks connected to the civil rights movement to diminish us ALL. He's ain't no dayum good as far as I'm concerned. The ease in which he can turn his back on Blacks is not surprising to say the least. Why...because he NOT one and this is the best way to prove it without saying outright. Caroline Kennedy didn't even support Hillary during the campaign, but Hillary is now telling her supporters to stop criticizing Caroline who is really not fit to replace her IMO. There are plenty others far more deserving with large constituencies. Caroline has never ran for anything and just jump ahead of everyone. Obama has to constantly prove to non-Blacks that we are nothing to him but notice Hillary doesn't go out of her way to do the same to white women. She wouldn't even attack Sarah Palin. I've never trusted Obama but considered him a better alternative to McCain/Palin and nothing more.

He want to obliterate civil rights advocacy but handle every other group with kid gloves. Why won't he tell white men to stop swindling and point out what it does to our society? Obama does not have an affinity for Black folks and I'm glad he's using the Jackson family as an example to wake us up.

Comment: HT, please don't join the "Chorus of the Disingenuous." To act as if Obama hasn't done anything yet is just plain dishonest. He has chosen people for powerful leadership positions--that's a BIG thing--and this illustrates the direction of his presidency. To pretend that the criticism is just soooo "unfair because he hasn't even taken office yet!" is insulting. So in response to your last question: "is it possible at all to hold off on the criticism until he fvcks up?" No, because he has already "fvcked up" more than once. I've said from the beginning waay back when I was deriding Tavis Smiley for his [what I do believe was presumptuous] criticism, that I would take a wait-and-see approach. I still will. But in the meantime, when he does something that's suspect, he needs to be called on it! Dang, why are people who dare question this man continually belittled? Name: musbdherbs
Comment: HT..what "black" thing is Obama being asked to do? I'm confused by your post. Also, asking people to hold off criticism of Obama until a time 'you' deem appropriate seems odd. If you don't want to criticize his decisions thus far. That's your right. Why do people continue to try and tell folks that they shouldn't be worried about nething Obama has done is beyond me. In many parts of the establishment Obama is being treated as Ghandi or even the Messiah. You can't criticize him before the election cuz he was trying to win. You can't criticize him after the election becz he hasn't taken office yet. when he takes office, there'll be a timeframe established w/in you can actually begin to criticize. If he does some'n wrong...don't criticize him for it. If you're black, don't expect nething from him. If you do, then don't say it. We say that he shouldn't be treated any differently than past POTUS. But when you do any of the aforementioned things (which btw are asked of all other POTUS), that's unacceptable becuz he's Obama. *Hunh* Where's the logic cuz i'm missing it.

I'll wait while you compile your list

Plenty of non-Blacks actually snicker and deride Blacks for supporting him to the tune that we do...knowing we he's really about. Look what he did at the Harvard Law Review. Even the Sunday morning pundits are taking note of Obama's true nature and mentioned the Harvard Law Review debacle. Obama would never embrace his Black enemies the way he bends over backwards for white ones. Joe Lieberman is a prime example. And if Obama ever dreams of crossing Rahm Manual that man is gonna fvck him with no grease.

JJ Jr is a congressman by name only, his district is a hot mess, recently his wife was appointed alderman with a mandate for change, guess what, she is like the rest of the aldermen in the city, collect a check and go home. My point is, granted politicians have limits of what can be done, but still, there are ways to make things happen for your immediate area you are appointed to. Grants, scholarships, community organizations, all of that JJJr has power over and nothing has change. I do not feel sorry for the brother, he is just like his daddy. Mr. Budweiser.

Comment: MelodyCool you make interesting points. However I disagree that Obama has sold us out. Black are not THE reason Obama won. He needed and got the white female and male votes. If he had relied solely on black votes he would have lost. I'll wait to see if you're correct about him throwing JJJ under the bus until the full report emerges. Obama has a hard line to balance. He has to prove to the world that he's not the president of black america but the president of the ALL AMERICA. He must do this while letting us knwo he has our back. I found nothing wrong with his Father's Day speech. It needed to be said. There are so many internal problems within our community that it was important a strong black male leader say it. What you'd rather have Bush or Rush Limbaugh give that speech? IT seems we dont' like our dirty laundry being aired but unfortunatley (as Javonee who is a teacher can attest) our dirty laundry are in the classrooms not working, not reading to grade capacity (yes there are those who do but there are too many who don't). Our dirty laundry is abandoning their kids leaving single parent homes. Our dirty laundry rides around and conducts drive by shootings. As for getting rid of the old guard. Are you referring to Jesse Jackson? What has this old guard civil rights activist done lately that requires blind loyalty? He's been an opportunistic adulterer. He's making speeches about black men being real men and here he is tiptoeing on his wife and getting his mistress pregnant. And he's a minister to boot. Yes we all make mistakes. But I don't give blind allegiance to the old guard. They deserve our respect for making it possible for a Barack to be POTUS but blind, unquestioning loyalty. No.

First of all, my Dad is a "loose lips sink ships" kinda guy so he'd never say that. But if he was as gregarious as Jesse Sr. and did, I don't think I'd say anything publicly unless asked because I was raised by a "loose lips sink ships" Dad...LOL. And I was raised to not put the family bidness out in the street. Criticizing my father would fit that description so I don't think I'd do it. But you have to admit that Jesse Sr. put him, a politician, in a really tough spot. And you have to admit that Jesse Jr. is judged to some extent by the actions/words of his father. It was a tough decision to make. I'm not sure he made the right one but that's me and I'm not a politician. Perhaps his "handlers" told him he should do it. I heard that he was already ticked at his Daddy for the embarrassment his lil love child caused the family. Maybe Jesse Jr was itching to say something negative. I don't know. Looking at the data, the black vote IMO was the most instrumental to his wins. I had and will always have a problem w/his Father's Day speech for many reasons. Much of it due to what you presented in your post. It didn't take a strong black man to tell other men what they should be doing. Black men are doing it w/out his help all along. If he can't represent black america becuz of politics or even his vision for america...he should refrain from giving "must do's" to the black community. I also know that the account of JJ pressuring Buds to give his sons the distributorship have been called lies by both Jackson..and budweiser..and the personal friend of Jackson (Burkle or some'n) who was said to have made the overture to Buds on Jackson's behalf. Yes we can say that they all are lying. But I remember the denial and the book basing its evidence on a lot of hearsay. I also remember the book author suggesting that the media had been complicit in covering up JJ scandals so the public wouldn't know. That's y I never gave his book much attention. The media still talks about hymietown and somehow they are not telling the true story about JJ because of? Fear? Intimidation? I find the accusation of coverup extremely hard to blve..esp re: JJ of all people. Moreover, deals are made behind the scenes all the time. If JJ protested against Buds due to their lack of minotiry representation and they turned around and 6 years later gave a contract to his own sons, is that out of bounds from what we see w/the political jockeying going on now. I don't think it is. Hillary's deal to become SoS comes to mind> She used her position as Hillary Clinton to get herself a deal. A good one at that. So no, I won't belve is just because a book said it. Juan Williams based his Sharpton accusation in "enough" on a story by the national journal or some'n like that. He and Al were on O'Reilly and even O'Reilly took Juan to task over presenting evidence in a book as FACT and not being able to back it up now that Al was sitting right there w/him.

Comment: allaboutlydia, there are plenty of issues facing non-Black communities but Obama dare not single them out for admonishment. See if he address all the big swindlers doing a job on the country!!! Of course, he couldn't have won without other coalitions, but name ONE group besides Blacks that rolled in the percentage that we did. I doubt if 97% of white women voted for him even though one gave birth to him. Why is it that the Black half was expected to deliver in ways the other half will never do? Notice how they can conveniently overlook his credentials and performance heretofore. People keep saying he's not the President of Black America...well he sho ain't the President of Israel or Latin America either, but he can addressed them specifically without lecturing and finger wagging. Why won't he talk about the genocide of Blacks in California and one group trying to expel and terrorize Blacks out of the entire state?...and it's spreading from coast to coast. It's easy for folks like Obama to dismiss Black continuencies because they still think we will support them no matter what. I would love to see if Obama can win the next election without a single Black vote.

Comment: @queenie, here are a "few" sources for you to explore but this is only the tip of the iceberg. It might be a good idea to past these into another document and remove any spaces if they appear. Sometimes there are problems with links pasted on eur: ---> http://www.infowars.com/articles/immigration/mexican_g angs_ethnic_cleansing_blacks_in_la.htm, Racist Mexican Gangs "Ethnic Cleansing" Blacks In L.A., Latino thugs indiscriminately murder blacks regardless of gang membership, genocidal purge aligns with radical Aztlan theology ---> http://www.alternet.org/story/46855/, Ethnic Cleansing in L.A., By Brentin Mock, ----> http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/la-op-hernandez7ja n07,0,2489.story?coll=la-opinion-rightrail/ Roots of Latino/black anger Longtime prejudices, not economic rivalry, fuel tensions., By Tanya K.
