Comment: I fully agree with Keith Sweat. Reality shows are for fake folk who just wanna be seen, who just wanna be famous because they bring no real substance to the world of performance art. I watched the first episode of that show. It was really sickening to see wealthy black women acting so vain and into self. Those women hardly paid any attention to their children. It was all about how they look and who they could party with. Keith is doing the right thing by protecting his kids' minds. His kids wanna be on the show for vain reasons too. I commend you Keith!

Comment: >WordUp - uh uh. You think somebody shouldn't put their business out there? But don't we deserve to see what Keith Sweat's children look like? He's in the public eye, right? Don't we deserve to see them? Doesn't he owe us the right to delve into his family life? You can't have it both ways, honey.

Comment: Re: Queenbunz. No. He don't owe us anything. The only ones he owe anything to is his kids and doing the right thing in their upbringing. What would be the purpose of putting them out there? SO that people can find something wrong with them. SO that people can look at that show and say how "spoiled" they are?

Comment: Queeniebunz, why don't you buzz the hell outta here? Click on to "socializewithme.com." You are co-dependent and need somebody to talk to. Sadly, you post on this board to interact directly with others by forcing your opinions on those who are not even thinkin about you. And gotta be about 14 years old. You are really immature. Get off my tits and talk to the clique that you formed here out of your co-dependency, chick. Damn! I ain't tryin to have conversations with you or anyone else. I don't need friends here. I got plenty of them in real life, of which apparently you don't.

Comment: >browntwo - I am glad he wouldn't let his kids be on that show, too. W/WordUp, I was referring to an article last week where she kept going on and non about how Queen Latifah owed it to the public to tell us if she's gay or not. So when ole girl WordUp said that she agrees with Keith Sweat in keeping his children off a show, it seemed to me to be a contradiction. >WordUp - get over yourself. This board is just fun to get through the work day. Why are you making it more than that by being so hostile?

I can't stand Keith Sweat as a singer but as a parent...nuff respect. She wants to be able to pimp her children. (i.e. look at me and Halle's only got one child)

Comment: I gotta go with Keith on this one. There are very few times that reality shows are beneficial to people. In most cases, people are made to look foolish i.e. the Whiney Houston effect. Besides if the show is about her and her career then there's no need for the boys.

Comment: Well for me seeing it for the first time this week-end. (a re-run). It's plain to see how vain the ole mighty dollar can make fools out of people. I don't blame Keith at all. He does have a beautiful set of Children though. All 5 of them. If I remember correctly there was a picture of him with all of them in his living room on BlackCelebrity Children. I think that was the site. This is the same site that had Steve Harvey and his extended family. As for this Lisa she should of mentioned in her opening statement that she has two other children from a previous relationship that choose not be filmed. The White Girl did it, she put it out there that she has a Man who is very wealthy, however, he doesn't want to be on TV. That's good enough to understand. The Older Chic, that had the Birthday party. What nerve her introduction included that fact that she was in a marriage and not happy, so she is now on the tail end of this divorce and she is expecting a seven figure payout. What was she thinking? I hope the Judge didn't see that! Now for the Snow's. Did you see the response on the Estate Planner's face when the wife was laughing over the comment that her husband made over the request's his father in law had for his visit to their new home! Priceless! She looked at her as like, there is just too much mullah for a African American Sister! Last but not least my favorite. NENE! Girl you are on the wrong show. You are not in place with those other Women. You need to have in your immediate Circle.. LisaRaye, Vivica, Star Jones, Little Kim, and Foxy Brown. At least with those Girls, you don't have to worry about what is being said behind your back. You know and is damn Proud of it. Your behavior is well expected.

Comment: I gotta admit, while I was watching that conceited group of rich black women behaving like egotistical maniacs for the love of money, I was wondering what it would be like to live the lifestyle. If the Good Lord ever blesses me with more money that I could ever spend in my lifetime, I would never flaunt my riches on a television show.

Comment: >deedee - this whole article had me scratching my head because a male friend of mine who worked with Sweat doing sound for one of his concert tours swears he's gay. Him having that many kids kinda says otherwise. But anyway, I have never really liked his whiny songs. He always sounds like he's begging and I hate that. I did like that song "I Want Her" but other than that, his whiny voice gets on my nerves. One thing I do admire about him is something I heard in the beginning of his career. I don't remember what his "day job" was but I remember hearing on the radio that he didn't quit his 9-5 until he knew for sure he could support himself singing. I like a practical man. Kudos to him for that. We hear about too many singers/actors who think they'll blow up and they end up broke. He seems to be a very practical man. I've always respected that.

Comment: Kudos for Keith on not signing the waiver. His children do NOT need to be on that show. I tried to watch the show this past weekend, but I stopped when I got a gander at that NeNe. She was beyond annoying. She lucked up on a sugadaddy and is riding that old geezer for all he's worth. Anyhoo, I knew it was a reason I don't watch too many reality shows because they are just tomfoolery at its finest.

Comment: Queenie - So may of our men are bisexual is incredible. I have a male friend that I've known for 15 years and he just told me that he has played the other side a few couple times. He has been married twice, the first marriage lasted 6 years and the current marriage is years old. The interesting thing is that a female friend told me that she thought he was on the down low and I defended him because he has been with many women during and in between his marriages. But anyhow. I have a gay male friend who tells me that most of the guys he sleeps with are married with children or appear to players. Hes says that he never have to look for them, they seek him out. I listened to a VM message that was left on his phone by a dude that was in the military, has 3 children and a wife on base. This %*$!( was losing his mind because my friend did not call him back. It was spooky.

Comment: >deedee- nothing surprises me anymore. Nothing at all. My friend who worked with Sweat told me this. He said that he had this lil dude fawning all over him kinda like that dude who holds the umbrella for Diddy. He said that he teasted Sweat about all the women kissing on him or hollerin for him and he referred to women as "b*tches" with such vitriol and contempt and disgust that my friend couldn't think that he was anything but gay. Especially with his boy fawning all over him. I was surprised when he told me the story because I had never thought anything at all about his sexual orientation. I'm hetero. I don't think about orientation that much. I just assume everyone is hetero until they say otherwise or unless they are totally "flaming" in the case of men or totall "butch" in the case of women. Unless it's all up in my face, I don't automatically think people are gay. I just don't. It took me awhile to figure out that having children doesn't automatically make you hetero...I ride the sexual orientation "short bus" basically...

Comment: Just from the show of posts, Mothership, I think it's time! I can remember very well, when he was starting out. He was a Clerk working for a Brokerage firm in the Wall Street Area. So let's take the Stock Broker out of this Arena!. If anyone if familiar with Century 21 Store on Broadway and Dey and the other two corners, across the street was Merrill Lynch Park, which has now been renamed. That use to be East River Savings Bank, back in the day. So if you are not familiar with what I'm saying, you didn't grow up in New York, or you are a bit younger than me. However, that was where everyone went to showcase their talent whether it was playing checkers to singing on the sidewalk. There was always something going on and Keith Sweat was there also. From the most famous spots as McCoys and Club 123 on Water Street, to 55 Water Street, where there were many shows where new artists came to showcase their wares. If any one is on the same page with me, do you remember the Great Atlantic Fish Truck?

I used to work with Status Four, the group who did "You Ain't Really Down." They had one hit and it was promising. Before that, worked in the World Trade Center. I remember everything you spoke on. Remember the shoe store that was on Church Street before they finished the World Trade Center? It was across from Trinity Church and they used to have the flyest, cutest shoes although it was a little store.

Comment: Mothership... had to log out. had some things in the place to take care of. I'm gonna holla at you. I'm born and raised in Brooklyn! I'm quite sure I know the shoe store you are talking about! Back then there were so many. Now that I know you know about 126 on Water Street. We can stomp!!!!hehehehehehe. Life's so good when you remember how easy it was to live and let live back in the day! American Express! Well I'm so impressed! I used to eat lunch there in the park and after work, party in the back if you know what I mean. The firm I worked for then was in the process of Building a New Building.. Barclays. We were on Water Street for ages. Partied at Jeremy's Ale House. The South Street SeaPort was just 3 Stores in a small Brick Building! Times have really changed. And I try to keep in touch with all that is happening. As for "Status Four". That was a mean group. I think I saw them at Club Ecstasy on Eastern Parkway and Rogers? (Bedford Ave) Along with Blue Magic and all. I was there when the Club Showcased Chaka Khan and she was so high, she fell off the stage. Believe it or not, it was safe to go in the water, and make it back, if you know what I mean. Do you remember Rick Aveliz, I know for sure I pronounced his name incorrectly. He was the Light Brother that was in Ghost's and GodFather 3. Also, a lot of other Comedy spots. He was amongst others that showcased their talents in lower Manhattan back in the early 80's. Right on the Sidewalks. As for shoe stores, I'm the biggest lover of shoes! I'm going to holla for sure! Speaking of the Housewive's...Let them do their thing!

The Store is still there, however, a bit different now. Split in two, so to speak, however, they have a 3 Sister shops uptown. The shoes are still the ones to die for. I was talking to someone that still have "Vintage Fred Baughns" Could you believe that?
