Comment: Well she did miss shows...and quite a few of them (so did LaChanze). Now that the truth is out, it reads like it was a decision not to announce Fantasia's condition because it would and could have had an impact on group sales. If a headliner does not perform you are entitled to your money back. Fantasia held her own in that show, she was very good for someone who hadn't experienced the grueling schedule of Broadway. Maybe this experience taught her to take a more active more (and demand a more active role) in how her press is handled.

Comment: I am happy she is better. That had to be a scary ordeal. I agree with you Teigh, she will (from now on) want to take a more active roll in her career. It funny how EUR chose to end the story with her quote: "The Color Purple' didn't know about it, my record company didn't know about it, and I was very hurt by that. ... I wasn't receiving any flowers, any balloons." Poor chile was lying in the hospital and no one sent one flower and not one balloon!!! What is the world coming to???

Comment: Improper vocal technique will wreck havoc on your craft. She needs to invest in a good vocal coach and slow down on the hollering if she wants longevity with her gift.

Comment: "...I wasn't receiving any flowers, any balloons." Huh? Happy to hear you've recovered well Fantasia (was that Disney movie a particular favorite of your mother's?), but don't go too diva on us. Wait. Wait. Let me take that back. I guess receiving flowers/ballons is a nice thing, particular for a woman. Me? I'm just happy to have my little one or two sick days off.

Comment: The Broadway eight show a week grind has made mincemeat out of more than ONE pop singer. You cannot come to the "way" and do for *8* shows what you do in the studio! Those "embellishments" i.e. growling, pressing the vocal chords to their limits has a light effect on a one-time "I'm doing my nightclub riff" - But it's *deadly* on that grueling night after night and twice on Sundays and Saturdays Broadway run. And it's even worse in Vegas where you have *12* shows a week in that dry desert climate! They have a phrase for that killa..."Vegas Throat". I wish Tasia the very best. She was MARVELOUS in that role. But I wholeheartedly agree - get thee to a voice coach! (Preferably an Opera coach for longevity).

Comment: Why the "no flowers", "no balloons" was important. Fantasia *saved* that show. It was set to close before she joined the cast. She filled those seats and lined their pockets with revenue that they had not had.
Instead of them taking *care* of their money-making star (pampering etc. - which is what they *do* for STARS), they chose instead to do a CYA and cover that box office (keeping Tasia's illness under wraps).
So, Tasia learned valuable lessons in Show Business: It's a meat-market. Don't believe the hype. When they are done with you, their famous parting word comes immediately into play:...NEXT!

Comment: Watch _and_Learn--Thank you for saying it..i thought it was just me.when Fantasia first came out, I thought "unique voice". I brought her first cd (only b/c Missy had a hand in it) but I could not bear to hear all that screaming. Especially in "Free Yourself". Chris Borwn need to be careful with all those crazy dance steps or he is well on his way to arthritis. Keshia Cole, I'm tired at you hollering at me too

Comment: LOL@BOOT - speak on it, now. They aren't hurting anyone. Javonne needed to talk to huey, she saw him here and let him know. Simple as that. Just post your opinion, read the ones you want to read and scroll past the ones you don't. Not that hard, folks. Lets keep it all peace up in here, OK.

Comment: Awwwww, If I'd known she was sick, I woulda sent her a vocal coach to help her stop that incessant screaming whilst singing. A warddrobe person to help her stop looking like a hot ghetto mess, A hairstylist to tame that nasty bush on top of her head, A make-up artist....errr nevermind, There's some things makeup just can't hide. Anyhow hope she has backup plans...

They post comments directly to each other just as some of the other folks do from time to time. At least they're not out here posting bullshyt like the folks complaining about them. Move on & find something else to gripe about.

Comment: Hey!!!! come on now... there are points not to be taken seriously and then there is common sense... Let's use neither today :).... Could anyone believe there is a Doc on the Dogs that Michael Vick had. I saw it on a commercial, and they looked really busted up. The whole show is basted on what happened to the Dogs after they were taken from his house, etc. There were over 100 dogs... Just the smell alone would of been over the top... Wow!
