Comment: I gave Verizon my 2 cents worth yesterday and threatened to drop my service and go back to comcast!
This is the reply I got:
Dear Mr. Miles,
Thank you for your recent feedback on the content that Verizon Wireless
carried as provided by 1938 Media.
We haven't shown the controversial clip you mention, nor did we ever
intend to. As we regularly review and refresh content on V CAST, clips
from 1938 Media were moved off our service this morning.
I trust that you will find this closes the matter to your satisfaction.
Sincerely,
Steve Schwed
Verizon Wireless
HQ Executive Relations Supervisor
I was surprised to get this feedback so quick. We will see if they follow through. If they do I will be very impressed and keep my service with Verizon for sometime to come.
(Looks like they jumped on the ball and handled things!)
On another note. That crap Feldman said in his apology was some BS!
I am sure his people were not talking all that smack when the Germans were after them. They were happy as hell the Tuskegee Airmen came and helped win the war!

I mean you have to see it is a double standard here, yea that was some bogus shyt he displayed, but how many times have black did the same thing to whites?? For instance its okay for a movie like White Chicks to stereotype white women?? Calm down people I am just sayin the man was expressing his own personal opinion from what he sees on televison, hear on the radio, or sees in the streets...So move on! I am pretty sure if you check out more sites on the web you would find the same type of stuff!

Comment: Well alrighty then. I watched it and what offends me is that it's not even funny. His "negro accent" is bad and not consistent. Beyond that, it's like this - if Dave Chappelle did this, black folk would think it's funny. (Hopefully he'd do it so it's actually funny.) But because a white man is doing it, all of a sudden it's this horrible thing. But when we make fun of white men and their "square" voices, even to the point where Tom Joyner has "Joe White Man" or something like that, we all think that's funny. And all of the black comedians do white men jokes - Eddie Murphy, Jamie Foxx, Dave Chappelle, etc. And doesn't Luda have a song called "Area Codes" about all the hoes he as all around the country? You can't have it both ways. So if this corny-azzed white man wants to imitate negroes, so what? He's not doing anything a black comedian wouldn't do. Why the double standard? Call me a "sell out" if you want but I don't really see this hot buttered mess as a big deal AND it's not even funny. But I am glad Verizon handled it...Next

Comment: Kudos to Verizon...As with all comedians whether they are Black, White, Hispanic, Asian red blue or green, they all have jokes about another race, not only Black comedians. Loren Feldman is the founder of 1938 Media, not a comedian. His blog was meant to be racist, not funny. Just look at his facial expression, it tells the story.

Comment: I know it's important to publicly throw down when blacks are disrespected. I get that. But I guess my thing is this - we need to choose our battles. Write a letter to Congress about education. Write one to your local district attorney (PG County people) about the recent lynching of an inmate who ALLEGEDLY killed a police officer but will never be found guilty or innocent because he was STRANGLED in his cell by a (probably white) guard/police officer. Some dumb-azzed cracka on a video presenting an unfunny skit is so not worth my time compared to the lynching that happened. And yes, it was a lynching. Make no mistake about that. Even though he wasn't pulled out, taken to a tree and hung and his privates burned off like they did bakc in the day, HE WAS LYNCHED. Even if he was guilty, HE WAS LYNCHED. That is where I will send my letter - to the county executive and to the police chief. What if that was my brother? Or cousin? Or Uncle? Or father? As citizens of this country, we deserve a fair trial just like anybody else. This fool - so not worth my letter. But I understand your need to be outraged. I get it.

Comment: @ queeniebunz. I think your missing the point. Dave Chapelle,Eddie Murphy,Jaime, Foxx, etc are comedians but no one can say there racist. This white boy is a known racist & we busted him for it & would not allow Verizon to use our money to support this racist.! And there is no double standard. You mentioned Ludacris and his song Area Codes? But once Bill O'Reilly spoke out in protest Pepsi dropped him. So it's ok when white's use their platform to take down Blacks and get their corporate money and contracts taken away but Black activists cant do the same thing against white racists???

Comment: I think when it comes to OUR plight in this country...some people think that it's either this or that & therefore we should only concern ourselves with "those" issues! But it's NEVER one or two....it's "ALL" of the issues/incidents that have to be addressed!! Ex:..Yes! "some" Blacks should stop the killing, having babies they don't care for, having unprotected sex, etc...But even when we address "those" issues??? we STILL will be in AMERICA! & STILL have to deal with THAT!! Buying into "it's OUR FAULT" & not seeing that what "some" of US do are SYMPTOMS of AMERICA'S treatment? is just further confusing the issues & allowing AMERICA to continue.....getting away with it sum mo!!! Comment: Queenie...you are missing a significant point. You don't get to decide what is important to others. so I think it is just as fruitless to complain that we aren't focusing on the right issues when no one can agree to what those issues are. I am INCENSED about Ronnie White's murder. I also know quite a few who felt as if he got what he deserved. A letter to congress about him serves the same purpose as a letter to verizon. It ensures that the affected community's voice is heard. That is what protests are about. Most people in this area have better things to do than protest the IMF/World Bank. But they do it every year. We don't get to decide nor should we try to diminish their focus because we "got better things to do." Well do it. Najee did what he always does. If you don't think it's substantive...great your opinion. The beautiful thing is that those of us upset about White can make our voices heard and those upset over this loser can as well. We have two feet..believe it or not..we can walk using both of them. Much of Genarlow Wilsons LIFE was gonna be in prision. You were indifferent about whether he should be there in the first place. THAT is also a life. Yet, it mattered less to you. Now you give me a FKNG BREAK w/this bullshyt.

Comment: >musb - I was not "indifferent" about Wilson. I know how I felt and still feel about that issue. My thought on situations like Wilson's is to stay out of them. Point - 1) keep your johnson in your pants/2) make sure you know the age of the female sucking it before you let her and you won't get caught up in a statutory rape charge. It's just that simple. I feel the same about people "accidentally getting knocked up or knocking somebody up". If you know where babies come from and you don't wrap up or make a guy wrap up, you could get pregnant. It's simple. If you keep your penis in your pants, it is impossible to be charged for a sex act. Do I think he should've gone to jail for nonsense like that? Um, no. I agree that to lock him up for a "consensual" blow job is ridiculous. What this situation screams is that young people need to be educated about the laws of their state. And, what it also screams is that people in that area need to be more militant about laws/racism/etc. I've said it before and I'll say it again - I have found Southern folks to be very complacent about things that would make my blood boil. As for White, my issue here it that PG Co. has a long, long history of police brutality. Remember Terence Johnson? So yeah I do think priorities are in order. People on here are all indignant over some ig'nant white fool calling a name when someone just got murdered by a corrections officer/police officer. I do think that trumps some dude on the internet. And you may say that to each his own but that is part of our problem. We're protesting something like this when we need to direct our attention to life or death situations. Suppose next time it's you? You get a DUI or you get caught speeding and the cop decides to lock yo azz up cuz he didn't get any from his wife or just on GP. And then another cop/corrections officer decides that since somebody got away with killing White, he can do it, too. So there you are in your cell and Joe Cracker decides to snuff you out. At that point do you really care about some dude on the internet w/his idiotic video? Or are you concerned that some guard is about to choke the life out of you and then go have a cup of coffee? Just go there w/me. Because if we allow this and don't focus all of our attention on this, it could lead to such a thing happening. When people get away with things, they do more stuff. They get bolder because they realize they are above the law so they act on it. Is that what we want? Because next time it could be you or any other black man whose life means nothing to Joe Peckerwood the racist prison guard. But as I said, that's JMHO...

Comment: >queenie-I do agree with you in regards to needing to give attention to this senseless murder that took place in jail, but don't forget this individual took someone else's life as well and that's why he was in jail. You said it yourself, "When people get away with things, they do more stuff". If what Loren Feldman said had not been stopped, he would've continued spreading this cancer (racism) that he represent.

Comment: And I just want to say this. What the man did was offensive, don't get me wrong. But a lot of us are big hypocrites. We get highly offended when we see a white man mimicking what too many rappers and brothers are living FOR REAL. If the majority of brothers were men of character than this probably wouldn't be relevant subject matter for a bigot. Aren't we provoking it? The way a lot of us have made foul mouth rappers who denigrate women rich. The way we refuse to stop using the word %*$!(@ and supporting the pedophile known as R. Kelly. And, isn't the real reason we hit the ceiling when we see these type of depictions is because deep down inside we know IT ISN'T all a lie? Like queeniebunz said, you can't have it both ways. We want others to respect us but when are enough of us going to CHANGE and start really respecting ourselves?

My response is its not a double standard for us.
We didnt suppot Ludacris? He got what he deserved disrespecting Black woman. we took down this white boy Feldman & Verizon. I flew to chicago at my own expense from L.A. and lead the protest against R-Kelly( As i have done for the past 6 years ) which was well documented on these very pages,In fact I have protested Snoop dogg,The Boondocks, The NAACP Image awards Eddie Murphy,Magic Johnson cinema and to much stuff to mention defending Black woman and our race so can you understand that?
