Comment: Let's get real folks! Many priests have been practicing pedophilia since the beginning of the Catholic Church. Many of these priests were religiously-oriented homosexuals who rather than live their homosexual life-style and go to hell for their abomination, as THEY perceived it, chose not to face their "dilemna" and retreat to the monastery and become celibate. Then gradually their depraved sexuality would express itself and their most convenient sex objects would be small, defense-less Catholic school children. I've heard numerous stories of Catholic priests in Nigeria who would sexually abuse kids and then be moved all over Nigeria until an enraged Nigerian parent caught up and killed their sadistic azzes. To require a human being to be celibate and lead this pious, ancient ritual-filled life when natural human desires dictate procreation is asking for trouble!! I used to envy my Catholic friends who attended Catholic School and wore bright uniforms and studied Latin and catechism, but I'm glad we belonged to the Baptist Church!!! LOL!!

it's not the same
these priests were pedophiles in the first place and just used the catholic church as a front i don't believe these men turned to children because they had to be celibate thats the biggest lie in the book alot of people are celibate for different reasons and they haven't sought out children
if they thought they were going to hell for having sex with men where in the hell did they think they were going for having sex with children?
a pedophile will use any means to get to a child it doesn't matter what denomination they are. there are children being abused in the baptist church also thats the prob people thinking their religion is untouchable

Comment: Andryce: Statistics from psychiatric literature reveals that the majority of pedophiles are heterosexual, but I was referencing the archaic canon law that dictates that all priests and nuns must be celibate to serve God. This is so un-natural. Wo/man and man/man was put on this earth to procreate and you can't accomplish this in a homosexual union. For someone to be forced to live an un-natural existence in reference to sexuality is gasoline on the fire of sexual ambiguity. From my experience, SOME of the priest were repressed homosexuals who didn't want to face their spiritual dilemna and joined to priesthood so they would not have to follow their sexual desires. At some point, this pressure may have caused SOME of them to turn to pedophilia. This is just my un-professional analysis.
