Comment: I always knew she had the vocal chops to handle the role of Ms. Celie, but the acting chops -- I'll admit I was skeptical. She is fantastic, and while I loved LaChanze in the role; Fantasia's LIFE EXPERIENCES that we are all privy to make her believable. She's added her own touches to make the role her own and she gives it everything she's got from the opening scene right up to the incredible finale. I would encourage anyone who's interested to go before January. I'm sure the play will close after she leaves. I can't imagine who they would get to replace her -- when you consider that it took Fantasia to replace LaChanze to bring in respectable numbers.

Comment: TEIGH>i would love to see this play on Broadway. if it ever comes to the ATL i'm there! GO HEAD FANNY GIRL! WORK IT AND STAY STRONG!! i know this play is kicking your azz right now but hang in there. doing a play for how many times a day ain't no joke. if you are not physically ready for it, it will kick you in the azz. i've been there when i did my play. everything hurt. but my mistake was that i put myself in a play that i directed and produced.i will never put myself in that in that position again. i'll just direct instead. but congrats to you Fanniegirl. i would love to come see you. you are fantastic!

Comment: In this business you gotta make that money while you can, 'cause you can be hot today, gone tomorrow. (just ask Sisqo). I hope shes banking that dough, and has a good financial adviser working for her.

Comment: This play was awesome! I saw the one in Chicago. Michelle Williams is alot better in person yall. Her vocals are alot stronger than I thought. The character is definately outside the box for her. She did a great job. It is well worth the money! Since, Chicago was great, I can only imagine how good New York will be. Besides, I love Fantasia. She is a true entertainer.

Comment: My wife and I saw The Color Purple earlier this month here in New York City. Fantasia was EXCELLENT in the play (and I, the typical guy, didn't think I would get into it...Broadway plays aren't at the top of my list of fun LOL), and I enjoyed the play from beginning to end. Elisabeth Withers was good too along with the guy who Leon replaced in the Temptations movie (I forget the dude's name). I recommend that if you are in the New York City area that you catch it while you can! The entire audience gave Fantasia two standing ovations at the end...and for those who saw it..."Ahhhhhh.......(quietly) men" :)

Comment: >>'Miss Celie takes a lot out of me,' she says. 'I'm being told everyday that I'm ugly. ... << I don't know why she actin' like she JUST started gettin' called ugly with the advent of this role.. Hell, the only thing that's changed is she got a wig on. LOL. Ugly muhphucka.

Comment: The ignorant and jealous will always exist, looking at some of you yellowone. I highly doubt anyone has called Fantasia ugly in the last three years TO HER FACE or even since she's been an adult. How many people do you all go up to daily and say "You're one Ugly Person". I bet the answer would be NONE, especially if the person has done nothing to you personally.. That's the difference. She's being called ugly as an adult to her face (who cares what cowards call you on the internet, she can't hear that), that might not sound bad but in the context of the musical with the heavy story line, it does get bad. There is also, incest (her having a baby with her father) and other deep topics to this character that will likely knock out anyone. Plus, she's on stage the entire production. The article that this information came from really had much more too it then just this. There was also a bunch of great compliments about how great she's doing in the role. Too bad Eurweb just took the part that makes it sound like she's complaining. She was just giving an honest interview and that interview had much more going on to it then this.

Comment: Fantasia is worn out, but unlike Lindsay Lohan, Britney and others, she's never cited "exhaustion" as an excuse?? Go Figure

Name: unpredictable123
Comment: All negative comments shut the f*ck up A**holes!!!!!!!!

Name: prettieyez
Comment: Bigchassie, this play is coming to ATL. I'm not sure when nor do I know who'll play Celie.

Name: RealSmiles
Comment: The play maybe wearing her out but it's not killing Fantasia one bit; as a matter of fact, she's killing C.P. in a good way. With all of ish with Britney and Lindsay, Fantasia is truely holding her own. Celebrate our young black queens.
