Comment: ....Ok, I'll admit I watched the show occaisionally for T&A reasons...Buckey and Bootz...Yes, I woulda slid up in them bootz...Young girl was trying to get a TV deal and from what I read, she has one in the works...We've seen Monique's act..WTF is she doing giving charm leasons...Everybody was in it for money and ratings...No charm, no morals, nuthing...I'm glad Bootz called that sh1t out...What upset me most was it was the highest rated show among Black folks...He11, most of the girls were exotic dancers...They shoulda put that joint on HBO late nite and just let the girls go all-out...Yo, Mo did walk up on the girl with fist balled...Her strange looking mom had every right to check her...Now that sh1t was funny...If that was really a charm school...Susan Taylor, Dr. Maya Angelo and B. Smith woulda been teachers...

Comment: I, too, questioned Mo's motives initially, but after watching a few episodes I said to myself "those sisters are so off da chain they can stand to learn a lesson from anyone - why not Mo'nique?" At the end of the day it's all compromised and half-hearted for the sake of entertainment. If you had a program that addressed serious issues in our community the show would be off the air before you could turn to the next page in your tv guide. Comment: When I was growing up back in the 70's we only had three channels and then on tv came up in the ealy 80's and then cable followed after that. The disadvantage of too many channels is that they have to fill the time with something so why not stuff that caters to the lowest commong demoninator. White folks have their idiot shows too like Wife Swap, America's Got Talent and Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire.

I initially wondered why Monique could teach them based on her act, however the show turned out to at least have some decent lessons that these young ladies and many young ladies out in the world need to know. As far as Larissa still talking about it, as someone else mentioned, ol' girl is just trying to extend her 15 minutes. Who really care what she has to say about Mo', Mo' has her career, and Larissa is still trying to cobble one together aside from simply being the big booty photo girls, chick has no class, she's not even interesting, just loud and wrong. BTW although she did sleep with Flav, she was one of the girls jigglin' her booty in his friends faces like a stripper when they came to visit. What? she had an attack of class when she had to sleep with Flav or was it that she simply didn't have the stomach to pull it off (I mean it's not like she resisted someone that anyone actually wanted to sleep with.)

What she needs to do is sit her azz down somewhere and learn how to respect both herself and her elders. In fact her mom needs to go back and get the home training she missed out on also. When I saw her mom (that frightning sight) I better understood why she is the way she is. It's sad, but these hoodrats will have offfspring and all they will be able to teach them is what they know. I'm really saddened that my people continue to act like this, but what makes me angry is that there are families that arne't like this but they will never see national exposure. Also, when was the last time you saw a decent black family shown on tv, in the movies or any other media outlet.

New York was doing him on his very first show. Bootz did state,"that she never let him grope and have sex with her". I think Flav gets a pay cut from there shows just to have his name still attached to it. Comment: Mo was not the right person to be teaching anyone charm. Diahann Carroll(not that she would have been caught dead on a program like that!) would've been fantastic to teach these women something about charm and grace. And it was clear that Mo felt for Sapphyre from the start, who's 'oh poor me I'm poor and whatever....' is the reason she won. She won but hasn't changed one iota from what I saw of her on the reunion show. As for watching these shows, I'm going to tell the truth here. Besides the fact that these things seem too fake to be really called 'reality tv', I like seeing Black people on TV. No, the women, Flav and even Mo had some problems, but what I liked about FOL's 1 and 2, was unlike 'The Bachelor', where there are 1 or 2 tokens thrown in to compete with a room full of Becky's, this reversed it. I liked seeing the Black women outnumber the White ones. I liked that everyone made an effort to try and look nice, even if their skirts were halfway their azzes. On New York's show, like it or not, New York is our first 'Black Bachelorette'. I'm just tired of not seeing Black people on mainstream TV. And if I have to watch shows that are a little in poor taste to see my people on the tube, then so be it. Give it another 10-20 years and maybe television will do better by Black folks. Maybe Shonda Rimes will be able to create a drama with predominantly Black characters instead of that ordinary White crap she is known for. But progress takes time I guess.
