Comment: ...One thing 'bout Dr. West is his sincerity...I really believe he loves Black folks...It's just too bad he ain't heading up a department at a HBCU...I don't think Hip-hop is dead it's just stagnant and a little simply stupid at times...You really have to look underground for some good sh1t...

Comment: cosign BOOT> re dr. west teaching at an HBCU. i brought that point up years ago when i was in college when i think it was Nikki Giovani or someone the like spoke at my college, an HBCU. it's unfortunate the creme of our crop always can b found outside the garden nurturing other's fruit. what to do, it is what is.

Comment: Dr. West and Michael Eric Dyson keep it pushin' to help take "us" to another intellectual level. Question is...is their "push" in vain? Roo!!

Comment: Look forward to this project. Dr. West and Eric Michael Dyson keep it real, like the fact that they are always trying to find a solution. FreakyQue2U, I don't think their eforts in vain, I'm glad they keep pushing, I think the reason we have gotten in the state that we are in is because people felt their efforts were in vain and stopped trying to uplift the 'masses' and concetrated on themselves.

Comment: thanx dr west for being an inspiration for me and so many others. you enhance my feelings of being proud to be a black man.('cause you're either proud or you're not). we need more like you and brotha dyson. i love music of most all genres, but a lot of the nonsensical hip-hop out there now i cannot stomach. who cares about your cars, clothes, and hoes(not my word). what have you contributed to your culture in a postive and enduring manner?

Comment: I WISH A LOT MORE PEOPLE WERE AS KNOWLEDGEABLE AS DR. WEST. I AM 42 YEARS OLD AND I LOVE GANSTA RAP. IF PEOPLE DIDN'T TAKE THE LYRICS AND THE VIDEOS SO SERIOUSLY I THINK WE WOULD REALLY ENJOY THE MUSIC. IT'S JUST MUSIC I DOUBT IT VERY SERIOUSLY IF THESE RAPPERS CALL THERE WIVES AND GIRFRIENDS B'S AND WH..ES.WHEN I LOOK AT RAPPERS, FOR THE MOST PART I SEE VERY POSITIVE BLACK AND WHITE PEOPLE JUST TRYING TO MAKE A LIVING. WE CANNOT BLAME RAP FOR EVERYTHING THAT GOES WRONG IN THIS COUNTRY. DID RAPPERS CAUSE THE WAR? THE FALL OF ENRON? THE CORRUPTION IN GOVERNMENT?
POVERTY? AND SO ON. PEOPLE NEED TO STOP HATING.
