I don't believe Isaiah was homophobic.
He said "I'm not your little fggot
like...". Many gays use the word, and just like ngger. If you use the word, you give others the permission to use it!!
As for Hardaway. He was voicing his opinion. Stupid, and he should have know better. He is homophobic! His apology is useless why do people want people to apologize for things they mean??? I'm mystified. Get over it! Boycott him/his products, maybe make him lose a couple of endorsements if that makes you feel better.
But his, and Isaiahs, are oops, don't mess w/ my money apologies. Why do people care if they apologize???

Comment: It seems that the gay community is trying to "railroad" people into thinking gay is normal and good. If you do not think it is right that is up to you, everyone does and should have thier own opinion. Now they try to make it seem like something is wrong with YOU if you do not think it is right. That does not mean that you should harass a gay person or do something bad to them, after all they are living breathing humans, but you are entitled to think what you want to think. But be wise, especially if you are in the public eye, don't just be stupid and talk about how you hate them.

Comment: It's not even just that Hardway's comments could have just stopped a black man from coming out the closet (b/c I'm sure that's true), it's black folk's IGNORANT reaction to what he said. Who can listen to people talk about gays like that and want to come out? As long as we keep these backwoods ways of thinking we will ALWAYS have to deal with the down low community.

Comment: If you around gay people, it easy to recognize them. It's something that most people feel is wrong...but they have to deal with the supreme being when that time comes. I don't hate anybody..white people, gays, or whatever...but I wouldn't want to be in their company other than work related..that's my opinon. It seem that because famous people are coming out, we are suppose to jump in had and feet...we all have our prejudices in life and that his....but one thing for sure...you can tell who and what runs things in America......they say freedom of speech...but its not...as long as you say what they want you to say,then everything is fine...Life isn't that way. I don't feel that God need me to do his job...he loves them as well as anyone. We all regardless of race, color, gender, free, not free. God blesses us ALL with 24 hours in a day regardless...I think that say alot.

Comment: Barnone is speaking the truth. In some cases, it is fear of rejection. However, in the majority of cases, DL brothers enjoy the thrill of living a double life - sleeping with men and women and being so secretive about it.
It is no different than heterosexual serial cheaters who are not sorry, embarrassed or fearful until they are caught.
If DL men were not ashamed of what they were doing, they would not hide it.

Comment: Personally, I think homosexuality is not natural. But that's me. I feel the same way about abortion: it's wrong but every woman ultimately has the right to choose for herself as it is her baby IN her body. She has the right and power to exercise FREE WILL and FREE CHOICE as a gay person has the right and power to choose for themselves what they are to do with their lives---their time--spnt on Earth. Then there will be a "judgment" by the Creator who made them, gave them life and gave them free will. I dont have the right to judge a gay person. My mandate is to love a gay person as a person and as a child of God. I especially dont hate them as that is against the Divine Mandate. Now, does Tim Hardway have the right and Free Wil to hate and express that hate---sure he does. But there are social consequences. Should he be penalized for his exercising his right of Free Speech? Hmmmm, now that's an interesting question.

Comment: Don't worry Ms. Cannick. I don't think his tirade was directed at lesbians. I'm sure Hardaway has had his share of lesbian encounters to last a lifetime. I still don't understand the double standard towards gay relationships. These same men who would spew hate towards gay men would also enjoy lesbian encounters. If you're against homosexuality then it's your right but at least be consistent with your hatred.

As much as Tim Hardaway hates gays, I wonder if he had the choice of playing with a Jordan quality gay player and getting a championship ring (something he never did) or not, would he turn the opportunity down?

Comment: I said it before and i'll say it again..it's all in the wording..If Hardaway had included something that had any religious aspect to his statement he wouldn't be hated like he is now and the biblethumping Christians would be singing his praises i.e, Pat Roberts, etc.
