I have a niece who had a boy and she was going to give her son an idiot sounding name and I begged her not to and told her that was not fair to this little boy because he would suffer the consequences of having to live his life with such a non sensical sounding name; a name that made absolutely no sense at all - and she finally agreed and gave him a normal sounding name that a young black boy could grow up proud to have. Later on after the baby was born, she thanked me that I appealed to her to make that decision.
