Comment: I admit i don't know what is going on here, but i get the feeling Simmons is being used as a puppet to gloss over the abhorrence treatment of Africans by the principals in the diamond industry. It is hard to believe his visit to the diamond mines and report just happened to coincide with the release of the movie "Blood Diamonds". Jews just 'used' Simmons to combat anti-Jewish attitudes (often misleading called anti-Semitism)--a man who has done much damage to the image of his own people. Now DeBeers and others are using him to polish the image of the diamond industry (another industry in which the Jews have a strong presence). If it is as it appears to me, this is one disgusting kneegrow.

Comment: Whatdat I'm not sure what he's doing either but from the beginning it didn't sit well with me. I am confused as to how they separate any of the diamonds in africa knowing if debeers and mervyn's weren't there the natives would be fighting and reaping the profits from THEIR OWN natural resource! They can call them conflict or blood they all belong to children of the motherland and what russ' connection means is curious to me but I'm convinced that folk are gonna end up with more money than they can spend in a lifetime to the detriment of somebody!

Comment: Khufu, It's the "end thing" to do now. You can adopt an orphan, hock red razrs(kanye west ad.) or become Bill Clinton's side kick for a cause(Chris Tucker).It's a good thing to give back, but what are you doing to help other suffering people in the good old U.S.of A.(Remember the victims of Hurricaine Katrina!) Africa is the birth place of humanity but I am saddened by all of the problems .Aids, violence and a whole bunch of other stuff we do not even know about.Khufu, Do you know anything about China's recent interest in the continent?What is that about?

Comment: China is interested in the natural resources like everyone else accept one thing: China seems sincere about their giving back to AFricans interms of assisting with the building of infrastructure and treating Africans with dignity and respect.....at least based on what I have read thus far in Waal STreet Journa, NY Times and some radio coverage (NPR)......things is FIVEMORE...they still have folks believing (MAINLY AMERICANS --especially AFRICAN AMERICANS) that Africa is poor, backwards and uncivilized...well folks need to wake up...if China is there....something is going on in AFRICA........

Comment: I don't know what folks you're talking about but any one with half a brain knows that Africa is a very wealthy continent, it's leaders are just crooked for the reason the wealth is not shared nor spread around. It's not rocket science to understand what China wants with them but if they have a plan where wealth trickles down and keeps those kids off tv on sunday then I'm all for it. As it is white folks have already raped and pillaged the country such that the diamond companies I named previously actually think they were born there from the wording of their commericals. It's all about the money, ain't a damned thing funny!!
