Comment: This could be an interesting issue if he and Beyonce get married someday. Beyonce grew up in church for many years (even sang in the choir for 2 years). I wonder how she'd feel about marrying some dude who clearly has disregard/contempt for "organized religion". I hate to see people compromise their beliefs just to accomodate that "special person" in their life. But then again, who knows? Maybe she now feels the same way on that topic as JayZ does.

In my own personal experience, those who strive to submit their will to do the Will of God are NOT inside the church, and the ones who profess God's Will by tongue, but not by their works or behavior are running up and down the aisle and behind the podium, speaking in tongues, gossiping about everybody, f***ing with everyone's wives AND husbands, and all that sh!t...

Comment: You know the funny thing about that whole clip is that he plays a song from Jay-Z backwards, but it a song that Jay-Z did not even make, it was made my DJ Danger Mouse. Alot of folks don't believe in organized religion and can you blame them, church folk in alot of cases are more crooked than street folks. His relationship with God is just that...his. Everyone has their own walk to deal with. I saw the DVD, and I did not learn anything that I did not already know. I simply believe that folks have a right to believe in what they choose and if you don't like it then you should not bash, you should just set your own example.

I'm simply saying church (or "organized religion" in other words) was an important part of Beyonce's growing up, while Jay-Z obviously has little or no regard for that. I'm just saying for some couples that can be a major issue , while in other cases one or both parties decide to compromise their position. Thats all. I know I would never compromise my position pn such an issue, but I know sometimes some people do.

I can't hold the message imprint on Jay-Z's cd against him because the cd goes through too many hands before it gets to the consumer. But I can hold what he says against him. Comment: I don't think anyone needs to judge Jay for not going to church. I agree with Secret--for so many going to church is just an act--it means nothing because so much of what they get in church is not applied in their daily lives. Some of these folks in the church are just ridiculous with the way they conduct themselves outside of the building. I've seen it time and time again. I believe in God fully, and used to be up in church ALL the time. My parents had me in there from the time I was a small child, and I contined on when I got older--Sunday morning, Tuesday evening for Bible Study--all of it. But I don't go as much anymore. Especially after I saw them promoting Republicans up in there. I saw then that it wasn't all about what it should be about. That episode really messed with me, and I realized that I wanted my relationship with God to be untainted by the dumb things people in the church were doing. Like I said, I haven't been to church in a while, but spiritually I'm fine--I have a very firm relationship with God.

Comment: I personally don't condone finger-pointing of any kind because I don't know of anyone who is perfect and without blemish - which is why I have a problem with the minister of Ex-Ministries and his infamous DVD. Unlike many, I didn't experience an epiphany after reviewing some of his material. Instead I walked away very irritated. I thought to myself who is he to cast judgement and condemnation at the rate of $29.95 for the box set? Yet, some folks buy it! As for Jay-Z, I could careless about what that brother believes because at the end of the I have to answer to God about MY life alone and how I lived it. I think we take celebrities to serious in my opinion. Rappers in general are offer very little to the pool of artistry. Jay-Z gets paid millions to boast about his very elaborate but immensely flawed life. The references to him being a divine being (j-Hova)is nothing but tacky, hip-hop bravado. It's what the whole rap game is about - no revelation, no inspiration. The problem that is still hidden in all this empty rhetoric about devil worship, truth told, is the soul-destroying affects that pop culture is having on the human race. We can't seem to escapte it and that's sad to me...

Comment: Okay folks, Let's stop the madness! Obviously, some of you {MrsPhoenix) have had bad experiences with church and church folks that's why you don't worship the MAN but the Lord! Someone once told me that you have to know the word for yourself and not rely on anyone to interpret God's word for you. I am a Christian and I visit this site frequently because I am into entertainment. The stuff that I don't agree with I ignore or simply reply. I have had an opportunity to view two of G. Craig Lewis's tapes and I found them to be quite informative! It actually made me pay close attention to the lyrics that I listen too and that I allow my children too listen too. What do you think is happening to our community and our children today! It's called SUBLIMINAL messages! If kids today are constantly feed garbage on tv and on the radio they start believing that crap! That is why we have a bunch of young girls today especially in the DC area thinking it's cool to be lesbians and wearing the rainbow braclets, etc. because it's the IN thing to do! That's why in the year 2006 we have black children that think white dolls are prettier and better than they are because everything they see about themselves is negative! Kids are killing each other and shooting up school yards partly because some of the messages that they are receiving from violent video games, etc. If your mind is constantly being feed garbarge,you don't know what you are capable of doing. Yes, it is a parental issue but we have to be responsible for our children. There are good preachers and bad preachers like there are good people and bad people. Doing the civil rights area, the one thing that brought us through the good times and the bad times was our faith in God. Sure many of us, including myself have been hurt in church but I have also had some of the best experiences in my life. Moreover, it is my belief and faith in God that has sustained me. You owe it to yourself to listen to some of the things that G. Craig has to say. Some of it is just as plan as the nose of our face. I don't have any idea about whether Jay Z worships the devil because I don't listen to Jay Z. However, I must say that after seeing the "Truth Behind Hip Hop" I did my own research and it will definitely change your perspective. I wish you all the best and remember no Jesus no Peace, but to Know Jesus, Know Peace!

Comment: ize gotta chime in here. i have never seen the dvd. dont need to watch it to know that 'based on the Bible' (for those of you who consider it your religious point of reference), jayz's persona (name-jehovah) is blasphemous and his music is ungodly and unchristlike. According to the Bible, unchristlike, blasphemous behavior (especially) is inspired of the devil. There is nothing that can be argued against that point. period. So according to Bible, is Jayz exhibiting devil-inspired behavior? Yes.
For those of you who dont believe the bible, you may come to a differing conclusion.
Is it devil worship? well before i could say that it IS or ISNT, i would need to understand some actions/concepts of devil worship THEN i could make an educated decision about it. I do know that a lot of people, black and uncolored, would do anything for fame and fortune and if he is into it, he would NOT be the first famous black entertainer involved in such. My exhusband years ago, told me how he peronally witnessed little richard speaking at his church and talking about how back then (50's-60's), he and others were into devil worship but made it seem to the public that he they were worshipping the christian god. sammy davis jr also made no secret about his satanist affiliations - so its not a far-fetched thought.
Did Jayz sidestep the question? Heck yea. according to the article, he never denied being a devil worshipper.
Personally if i DIDNT worship the devil, a clarification would be the first thing droppin outta my mouth. (
me in interview>>"naw sweetie, i would never knowingly worship the devil. that's heinous....." So without a flat out denial, jayz is suspect....thats like someone asking me if im gay. hells naw! would be my first response.
but lets look at what jayz did. he said that the man should be arrested?!?
why? what happened to freedom of conscience? if i think the pope is the pedophile or of the devil, dont i have right to express it? but JAY said "seriously, the man should be arrested"
is jay on bush's payroll? is that how we silence dissenting views in 2006?
Also, why the man played the dvd backwards, personal problems with organized religion, is jay going to heaven? why do people judge.. are all interesting topics, but not nare one of them addresses the question at hand: is jayz worshipping the devil etc.

Ive never looked but its possible that information could be found out on the net too, as he was "in the church" for a few years.
No doubt that if jayz worships the devil thats between him and the creator....i think thats for all sin issues. however we also know that IF he OPENLY said that he did, 80% of all these folk in this post that do listen, would stop listening to his music.
Why? I personally think that regardless of our shortcomings, most people dont want to be openly reminded that they are following/imitiating/enjoying someone directly connected to satanism. With all the mouth you hear up in this piece, let one of these folk (myself included) find out the girl/guy they dating is a satan worshipper...that relationship/bootycall or whatever would be cut REAL short with a swiftness.

Comment: Wow, as I read the comments I can't help but see what trouble the world is in today. Many people calling Cristianity "Organized Religion" have not even set foot in a REAL church. Jesus was not about chaos and had a church in those days. How can a person know how to totally do what is right unless they are taught? I do know that there are many money hungry Pastors that are not concerned about souls but that is why you have to study the bible and search for a church that is in line with it. If you REALLY want to know GOD he will lead you to where you need to go. You can't just do anything you want in this life and think I'm ok God knows. He also knows who has made an effort to do his will and those are his people.
