Comment: " It doesn't frighten anybody these days..." The HELL you say ! Because of stuff like that there are certain places in the US (the ENTIRE state of MS and AL, anywhere outside of Metro Atlanta, Rural IN and IL the list goes on) that I refuse to set foot in, drive in or be in after dark. I gives a D@#MN about what year it is. I know what's STILL up in the country.

Comment: Tinacherry nothing has changed. I read Emmitt's mother biography on her son. He was really a thoughtful, kind young gentleman. He did not deserve to die like that. No one does.

Comment: How is the worst penalty a $1,000 fine for defacing public property by spray painting "KKK"? Isn't that also a hate crime? I am so glad I live in the north! Not saying it's all peaches and cream up here, but the south has some serious social progression to make.

Comment: I agree with Thunny..a $1,000 fine seems like a slap on the wrist to me...the punishment should be more steep...I hope they catch the vandals...

Comment: I live in the south. I'll be 30 yrs in 2 days. The only thing I can say I appreciate about it is....I don't have to imagine what it was like. I can say I have experienced being 9 yrs old outside jumping rope with my friends and a big truck comes speeding our way...beer bottles flying...and ni&&ers hollered out so we are not at all mistaken what the issue is. Most of my peers don't know what that's like I do....and that was Houston TX the 4th largest city....not some back woods little town BIG CITY.I was a kid when we moved from New Jersey...it's just that's where the concentration of racism has always been. Even in the days immediately following the abolishment of slavery and prior to the abolishment...it was the slaves who had no hope that stayed or the slaves who couldn't over come their fears..there's always a bigger picture in my opinion...just my opinion. Did I ramble on oh well

Comment: Co-Sign w/Spel..you can add my home state of Louisiana to that mix. Anything outside of New Orleans is a gamble. I have seen racist out here on the west coast also. I litigate with them occasionaly. The north has the same type of problems with different approaches.
