Comment: Has anyone anyone ever done this "Master Cleanse" regimen B was on?(really a fast). The cleanse consist of fresh squeezed lemons, distilled water, cayenne pepper and pure maple syrup or molasses. I think it is intended to be more of a detox/cleanse for the body but weight loss is a by-product or so I've heard...

Comment: Go ahead, girl. Take care of your man. >>Tenacious, yes, I've done the master cleanse 4 times and I'm planning to do another cleanse this summer. I find it a great way to really cleanse the body and their are mental benefits as well. Also, you can lose weight on it as well. Robin, from Howard Stern's show lost her weight using the cleanse as well. I do it for health purposes, but it really is beneficial all around and you aren't ever physically hungry on it if you do it properly, you just miss chewing--I like leaving bits of lemon in my drink to chew on. I definitely recommend it, but people should definitely read the book first, to get their mindset right and a good understanding of why to do the vairous steps. I also recommend the site www.themastercleanse.com which has a bulletin board that you can do the cleanse along with others and ask questions and receive information etc.

Comment: coneyi< IF, and I mean IF, this story is even true, when somebody is almost 40 they will gain weight. He's already showing lots of age in the face so she might as well get used to it. I gotta be honest, I LOVE Rodney Jerkins and the things that he has done on Brandy's albums, esp. lyrically and with Lashawn Daniel's vocal arrangements so I think B's cd has a great chance of being dope..I just don't think I'm goin to be ready to see more Beyonce in September. I'm already on overload.

I don't think she will look like Chaka/Aretha b/c she is paid to the end of her days unless she does something really stupid like marry a BB and he spends all her money. Comment: OOhhh, I did not even think about Kellys album being pushed back, shady!!!But maybe that is so B's name can be fresh in peoples minds when DreamGirls hit theatres. I keep hearing good things about it! Have any of you seen that Tommy Hilfiger commercial with B (it was a while ago) for I think the first perfume she did. Well, to me, that is when she looked the most beautiful. She did not have on a lot of make up, no hair blowing in the wind and she looked really natural and she looked really young too. It is the makeup and stuff that makes her look older. I hope she never does the plastic surgery thing, she doesn't need to. Some people do hate on her alot and it is probably because she seems to have this perfect life. But all that glitters ain't gold and I love my life just the way it is, I could always use some mo' money, but I am happy. I think you have to be happy to be able to be happy for others. I am so happy for all these black women doing it big in that industry. I was a little salty at B for not being at the Oprahs Legend thing, but I also noticed she was not in attendance when she won that song writing award, her dad accepted on her behalf, so I guess I can not be mad anymore!!

Also, I have yet to meet a 25 year old who has it going on like Beyonce and I live in a major city. I am familiar with the stats for black women grads but it still has not reached the inner city as I preach endlessly about the benefits of college and I keep encountering people who want to be either a rapper or American Idol. Beyonce is talented and none of these new chicks can compare to her or compete with her. Accept it!! Comment: clotel, your comments boarder on the ridiculous. You want innercity young women to aspire to Beyonce's level of success? You can't be serious. You also seem to have contempt for the very population you claim to serve. First of all, all that glitters is not gold and as you can see, alot of toes were stepped on for Beyonce to become the superstar that she is. Her parents dressed her and the other members of destiny's child like prostitutes, despite their 'southern christian girl' testimonials. They sold sex to a society obsessed with it and were therefore amptly rewarded. Although Beyonce is beautiful and talented that didn't seem to be enough, she has to strut around gyrating with moves even a stripper would envy. When the two former members of destiny's child complained about the favoritism they were cut. I am glad Letoya is back with her single which I must say I like and the video is nice as it does not rely on overt sexuality. I hope she keeps it responsible as there are young girls who look up to and try to imitate our so called 'celebritites'. We need to find role models for the children off the stages and courts as clearly those are not the best examples. That is why it is disturbing that you want innercity women to immulate a singer??? Why, are all the 'babymama's' you talk about talented singers??? And I also want people to stop always applauding women who don't have children as automatically having moral superiority over those that do, for all you know they could have had several abortions and that includes celebrities as well. Why not mention Fantasia as a role model if you want to use a singer, yes she is a 'babymama' as some would put it, but she struggled for her dream without the help of 'stage parents' and made a way for her whole family, mother, brother and daughter. And she didn't sugarcoat nothing, she keeps it real and positive. I also resent the fact that she did not win a role in dreamgirls, god knows that girl can out sing anybody. She just uses her talent and not her body, that's what is admirable. As for Beyonce and her man, I wish her well, but she should expect the worse, afterall he is the same person who wrote, he got 99 problems and a B!tch ain't one of um. That mentality doesn't just go away. But who knows they may beat the odds anyway.

I volunteer because I enjoy doing it and not because I had to because of the church I attend. And guess what ? I am child-free by CHOICE (which by the way has very nothing to do with morals and values, it is called a LIFE CHOICE) and still have selfless love to assist those who I do not know. Your extensive use of words was somewhat captivating but it was only icing on the cake. As for Fantasia, I do not consider her a role model or none of the entertainers for that matter, that is why I have a mother and supportive extensive family, those are MY heros.

Comment: I think Beyonce has plenty of talent. I don't think her first album would have done so well without Jay being on Crazy in Love, because without him, that song was just OK. Same with Check on It, without Slim Thug, is is JUST OK! In order for these artist of today to sell, they feel all they can do is be sexy. I think Beyonce has alot of talent, but I am hoping this album says a little more than "I know you want my body"....I think Beyonce is jammed down our throats a little much because she has her hands in everything, commercials, videos, movies so as much as I like her, I get a little tired myself. I just hope that DreamGirls is good and her album and then she can take a rest!! And I pray she does not be shaking her as* as much as in the past because that gets to be a little much. As many young girls that want to be like her, I hope one day she starts reaching out to them letting them know the real deal. I won't even speak on the old Destiny's Child because I could NOT stand Beyonce back then. I just hated the way they made her seem like the only star in the group...and they took LeToya out cause she was cute, at times, especially back in the day, cuter than B, I know it!!!

Comment: Clotel- I work with the youth in the trenches, I encourage them to see themselves outside of the negative stereotypes this society would give them. But this post was not about 'me' I was responding to 'You' saying that 'beyonce' was something innercity women need to aspire to be. 'You' said that 'I' didn't. I applaud anyone who is responsible and doesn't have children until they are ready for the sacrifice and responsibility, just like I applaud those who stand up to the responsibility and reality when they do have children neither is better or worse than the other. Many of us would not even be here today if our mothers hadn't had the courage to have us against what others thought. Some of our greatest leaders were born of 'babymama's' So while I don't encourage it, I also don't look down on them either. And yes IMO Fantasia is a better singer and role model for innercity girls than Beyonce if I were to use a celebrity which I don't. I try to get them to focus on being the best 'they' can be, not on what some celebrity is doing, because I know the life we see is oftimes a lot less glamorous and happy than the one they actually live, money and all. We need to focus on the inside and not the outside, because the inside is what will sustain you in the long run. I use everything when I deal with the youth, history, media, their own thoughts, whatever, heck I would even use my name if it was like yours, 'clotel, the presidents daughter', a book about the slave daughter of thomas jefferson. I teach and I learn. Best believe I am about the youth.

I totally agree with you on that subject for all we know Beyonce had several abortion. I remember listening to the radio a few years back when they was talking about Jay and B wanting to marry each other and that was strange because they was only together for like 3 months now I know their not actual proof but I bet ya 9 times out of 10 her %*$ was knock up but because of her greedy father he probably made her get rid of it. Look at her younger sister Solonge they had an article out where the father was going to pay the press money to keep Solonge pregnancy a secret but sense they couldn't keep the pregnancy a secret the father made that guy marry his daughter to prevent the Knowles from having a bad name. I’m telling you if Solonge was an average female she would be a baby mamma. All I'm saying is Beyonce need to stop faking a fraud and stop portraying herself as this Christian when she dresses like a slut in most of her video and shakes her %*$ like a stipper.Dont get me wrong she's a beautiful sister with talent, it’s just makes me upset when they make it seems like Beyonce is the only talented sister out there let me tell you Rachell Ferrell, Kelly Price,Ledisi, and a few other I cant think of will blow her %*$ under the table but they aren’t noticed for their true talents because they aren’t in a image of a white woman nor are they selling sex like her. I know her father has to be paying and bribing people for her %*$ to getting this much attention. Like they always say what goes up must come down I notice celebrity they "Worship" has a terrible fall.Micheal Jackson for instance he dominated the music industry for over 25 years now look at him the same white people and worshiper that brought his %*$ to the top is feeding his %*$ to the dogs now, look at Whitney Houston she comes from a heavily Christian Back ground now look at her now, Lauryn Hill she was the %*$! for a few years now look at her. My thing is how will Beyonce handle rejection, how will she be able to handle it when someone come along and let her %*$ be pushed to the side. She better enjoy everything while it last because eventually her "season" will come to an end.
