Comment: Okay. So what is the big deal? There is a history of violence in the hip hop crowd especially when a lot of people are together (concerts and movies etc). Is it a problem to heighten security? How is that racial and why do the people need to come up with an excuse for saying that extra security may be needed? Why make everything racial. If it is true then it is not racial! This world is going crazy.

Comment: And what do they expect mall security guards to do to keep the peace? hit someone over the head with a flashlight.

Comment: Let's be real. The movie is about thugs for thugs. OF COURSE they need more security. Thugs misbehave and act the fool. There isn't anything racial about that. It's true. Yeah, they are black thugs but black thugs act up. If it were my movie theatre, I'd either 1) not show the movie or 2)have metal detectors or 3)have extra security. I'm black and I would do it - anybody objecting needs to re-evaluate society and get a clue. Somebody is gonna get shot or stabbed at one of these theatres just like at 50's movie and we all know it.

Comment: Remember those Bruce lee movies? Everyone would come out thinking they were karate masters..lol. Well here we go with movies about living in the hood. Everyone will want to come out thinking their a thug or hooch. No matter what it is, they want to be the best and feel they are on top of their game. Even if the game is not real nor respctful. Yes its a shame, but what are we going to do about it. look how many time I have seen episodes of Cribs and seen wealthy people with pictures of Tony Mantana on thier wall. WTF?!?! Glorifying violence. I do understand that this movie is not all about the violence at all, however it still plays a serious role in the minds of our youth. We have to control this. Only thing is, noone wants to listen. Eveyone is too busy trying to make money.

Comment: I have to totally disagree. This action is extremely bias. Was security heighten when 8 Mile was showing? Why always assume that young blacks will act a fool after view an urban film. Just as much violence happens at a rock and/or punk rock concert, but only any rap related gets the negative press.

Comment: I must be really out of touch. I have never heard of a movie crowd going wild after seeing a move. Where does this happeh? This DOES sound arbitrary which can only be construed in this case as racism. Did people riot after they saw "Do the Right Thing" or "Boyz in the Hood"? Maybe in your neighborhood theatre, but not in mine.
